Trump on his ballroom: "We're gonna have the inauguration here"

Plan for him to refuse to leave while also hoping he doesn't make it to 2028. (Similarly hoping he doesn't make it to 2027... or July, for that matter.)

His son’s inauguration. He knows he’s got about 6 months to live. I’ve been saying that based on his cognitive and physical decline. But monarchs see their sons as extensions of themselves so this is what’s going on, folks. Time to get with the program: the dynasty is here and we need tocrush it NOW

At that moment the winning Dem President Elect will rename it the Harriet Tubman Memorial Ballroom, where after the inauguration, it'll be gutted and repurposed as offices for the Dept. of AntiCorruption, investigatiing your admin for starters.

Has anyone seen a mockup where the ballroom is being used for a grand ball. It appears trump does not know the difference between a ballroom and a dining hall.

You know what else they have at the Capitol besides the swearing in of the president? When the president lies in state after he dies. Will this amazingly safe ballroom be used for this as well? Just asking for a lot of friends.

He's not going to be inaugurated again, if you folks have any balls whatsoever. Right now: the bets are on the 'other side', sadly.

Also the incoming president can actually choose to be sworn in anywhere by any judge. Calvin Coolidge was sworn in by his father, a local judge, at the latter's home in Vermont when Harding died. THen there's the inauguration parade by the Capitol to the WH. Also luncheon with Congress there.

“And it’s not safe at the capitol, like it will be here (in the ballroom)”. Really hammering that safety line. Even though it is stupid BS, I’m sure we will be hearing it from Republicans looking for a justification for the spending…

Just in case anyone was *still* entertaining thoughts that he totally won't try to run again in 2028, assuming either his heart hasn't given up after one too many quarter pounders or his brain is so completely mush that even this administration can't hide it.

That would require Trump to talk to Vance, and I don't think he likes being in the same room as the guy, let alone speaking to him. To be fair to Trump, Vance does seem to have a very real touch of death, so I'd keep my distance, too.

A reasonable and ironic Dem would have a small ceremony in the Oval Office. Deny them the overindulgent spectacle they crave.

That was always the plan. He will not leave the Whitehouse voluntarily. There is no way this maniacal narcissistic would do anything for the next guy. He's arming the place for himself.

There are men in white coats that will be able to remove Trump with force if needed, and transport him to an inpatient facility where he will receive the best care, compliments of American taxpayers.

aside from a handful of times that the inauguration has been held indoor, the inauguration has been outdoors at the Capitol, so anyone that wants to can attend. also, holding it at the Capitol is a reminder of the co-equal branches of our government, something he doesn't believe or understand.

I think the next president gets to decide where the inauguration is. The White House will be a construction zone. The Mall will be a Wet & Wild. Not sure where I would hold the inauguration.

Our inaugurations are held outdoors to allow the public to witness the peaceful transfer of power. Which isn’t at all important to him - we’ve already witnessed it.
