REPORTER: I'm curious, first of all, do you still think that this war is still going much better than you expected? JON HUSTED: Well, the military aspect of it went very well. The peace aspect has not proven to be as efficient.

Which part of the military aspect went very well? The fact we blew up a lot of things, including school girls? Or the fact they shutdown the Strait as a result of our very successful military action and we can't force it open?

Dude just say it’s a shit show. It’s not a war, it’s a war, it’s on, it’s off, they have been obliterated, wait they can still take out helicopters, it’s over, strait is open, nope it’s closed, they beg for a deal, they better make a deal FAST.IT’S ALL A JOKE. Just like this President/administration

Ladies and gentlemen... May I present Jon Husted, a supposed senator (never elected to the post) who does not dare think for himself but, instead, is an ardent follower of Heir Trump. He doesn't represent Ohio citizens, he represents Trump. So pathetic for man to give up his integrity.

The military aspect was an unprovoked attack that killed 168 little girls to destroy a nuclear capability Trump claimed to have previously destroyed. The peace aspect isn’t just inefficient. It is a direct result of Trump’s and his Secretary of State’s incompetence on the world stage.

Listening to these people talk about ANYTHING - ending the war, solar energy, screw worms, the economy, Trump's cage match - is EXCRUCIATING. I am not enjoying life in our ohmygodocracy.

Husted is a liar and a con. He has zero scruples and would sell his mother for a higher position of power. My vote, as it always does when he is on the ballot, goes to Sherrod Brown. Ohio is a hot mess but I hope he can win this.

It’s always interesting how “the military part went very well” and “the peace part isn’t working” somehow end up in the same sentence. Turns out ending wars is usually the hard part, not starting them.

Me: Hey Google, which army did better militarily during the American Revolution? Google: The British Army was superior in size, training, equipment, & naval support. The British routinely won tactical battles. However, the Continental Army utilized strategy & intelligence to outlast the British.

At the beginning of the American Revolution, most British politicians assumed the British army would easily beat the Americans. Right now, Senator Husted is making the same assumption about the US military vs Iran🤷‍♀️

Saying about a war that "the military aspect went very well, but not the peace aspect" is like saying that the flying to another city went fine, but the landing wasn't accomplished well.

Ignoring the absurdity for a moment. *Did* the military aspect actually go well? It seems to me we had a fairly clear set of strategic objectives for the military campaign:

Remove their capability to develop nukes, destroy their ability to threaten the region, induce regime change, and, defensively, prevent them from closing the strait of hormuz.

And we have accomplished none of those. We did 'destroy the Iranian Navy', but the objective was not actually 'destroy the Iranian Navy', it was 'prevent them from threatening the UAE/KSA/Israel and from controlling the Strait of Hormuz' - and we very clearly did not do that.

"We've been very successful at making explodey things go boom, we'll leave it to the next Democratic president to figure out objectives & exit strategy"

"The spending money and breaking things part went really well. We haven't quite worked out how to stop draining resources, harming lives, or destroying global good-will. Oh, and everything is worse than if we had done nothing."

I met Heller in ‘68. His persona was that of an amiable schlemiel, not the man who wrote one of the most important books of the age. It was first disappointing, then refreshing. How glad am I to have read that book when I was 15? Can’t describe.

Ya usually when the military aspect of it starts with you bombing the shit out of a country of 90 million people for bogus reasons, the peace part of it can be a tad offsetting. What a joke this guy is

Military aspect, as in bombing of the girls' school on the first day? Or keeping the Strait of Hormuz open? Or depleting our stockpile of munitions for no good reason? Or gas prices up 50%? WHICH ASPECT?
