Minnesota Republican state Senate candidate Austin Peterson endorses NDAs for data centers: "There's a reason why there's NDAs out there"

Companies figured out that meeting with city officials and then making it public to let the town know they are going to build a huge data center in their town is detrimental to the data center being built or approved of by the people. NDA will keep city officials from blabbing while they approve it.

How can data centers drive economies locally? The more powerful and ubiquitous a corporation is, the less tax they seem to pay. You need labor for the initial build, then very little. Everything seems offset by resource use and the shame of hosting a data center. I don't get it.

So you want to get elected as a representative of the public by not representing the public at all? Austin, you stupid

They will categorically eliminate the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Republicans do not want to feed hungry children with taxpayer money. Instead, they want to use tax revenue to benefit major investors—who never asked for it, yet stand to gain from it.

A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is a legally binding contract that sets rules for sharing confidential information between parties while restricting unauthorized disclosure or use. It protects sensitive business details like trade secrets, intellectual property…

Yeah they've been abused, they need limitations ,like not being valid if they block info that can harm others. I "believe" NDAs for child SA are illegal. We need them to be illegal if they cause or protect those who harm the environment, water, food, bodily autonomy, health, animals, Etc..

Voters: Data centers are not disclosing the truth about water use, energy use, and noise and environmental pollution Republicans: Governments should sign NDAs with data centers Another problem solved!!

They NEVER say how they will “drive” economies, they NEVER say what “good jobs” they will bring, and there should NEVER be NDA’s for anything in government! Yet ANOTHER cover-up so THEY don’t have to face accountability when it goes bad. If you are so FOR them then be 💯 % transparent about ALL of it

NDAs are pretty much worthless anyways with Minnesota's data practices act. That being said, there are real reasons many businesses don't want to publicize projects prematurely.

Imagine a manufacturer is working to build a new plant that would require the relocation of many employees. Word gets out, employees start leaving, and then something happens and the project doesn't proceed. Bad news for that business.

If I became leader of the world every NDA ever would be revisited. Too many are just blank cheques to give rich men free reign abuse, use and hurt women and children. NDAs currently act as if they were Confessionals that wipe the slate of the sins past, present and future.

That’s plain awful. Governed Healy and MA wants to out some good restrictions on data centers include energy neutrality and benefits locked in for the community. So many governors plan to sell out their own people

Republicans are all-in for the techno fascist gulag being constructed with taxpayer money. The DNC has sold out to AI and the data centers, so we are absolutely fucked. Chuck Schumer’s daughter just landed a cushy job with ChatGPT, for instance. Corporate Democrats: just as owned as any Republican.
