Correct. Many millions of Americans ceased caring about corruption, lawlessness, unconstitutional power grabs, and habitual lying years ago. Our standards have fallen so low as a nation that Vance can brag about getting away with it and still have a political future. bsky.app/profile/atru...

JD Vance: "I think Nixon's historical legacy is enjoying a bit of a renaissance, and deservedly so. I joked that if Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12 hours news story. The idea that it took down a presidency is crazy."

The Artemis II crew just gave us an 80's sitcom intro and it's absolutely hilarious! Freeze frames, cheesy grins, theme song energy. These are the four humans who are about to around the Moon. NASA said fun and we are here for it!

Trump keeps acting like predecessors didn’t do things because they lacked spine when the actual reason is they had brains.

As someone who has seen Mallrats more times than I care to admit, this is a fascinating profile that has a couple twists along the way. Crazy how even mentioning the word "Scientology" to a former Scientologist provokes a Pavlovian response of hostility and near-immediate legal action.

I can't think of anything less patriotic than allowing a corrupt pedophile to suspend the constitution so he can murder citizens, enrich himself, and imprison journalists.

Have you ever been mocked by a woman? Wanted to kill her? President Trump thinks you are ICE material.

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?" Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

Look, I'm not one to quickly believe in conspiracy theories about us attacking Venezuela on a made up provocation to distract from the Epstein files, but the timing of all this is not helping me convince myself that it's not true.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Traditional American politics is premised on the notion that sometimes you lose and sometimes you win and you have to deal with that. But Trumpism is premised on the notion that any result where you don’t win is illegitimate, unlawful, fraud, criminal. You can’t negotiate with people like that.

Like, these Republicans are literally talking about shit that isn’t real. That’s their entire MO—because the money behind them doesn’t want to fix anything. Because it benefits from the brokenness. So they go after education. They go after the schools. The colleges. They want an ignorant populace.

Trump has made it abundantly clear that any person who dares to tell the truth in any government agency will be fired. It is also clear when you take a look at his appointees that all are willing and eager to lie for him constantly and effortlessly without remorse or regret.

I hope everyone notices that Trump is trying to normalize the idea of arresting political opponents for no reason (Trump attempted a coup in 2021 so miss me with the false equivalences)

The right-wing propaganda machine —networks of think tanks, advocacy groups, and media outlets—has worked to divorce right-leaning Americans from reality and instill in them a sense of victimhood and resentment. This unreality serves as justification for state violence against their opposition.

One problem is that Trump is always so anxious to declare victory and seek credit/adoration/prizes for it that he gets out in front of reality to create his fan fiction. It’s all about short-term “wins” for Trump and Fox news cycles, not anything lasting, durable, or sustainable.
