I dug deep and read the list: Ayn Rand's definition of capitalism? No thanks. Also fascinating: Lots of attention to Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln in early grades. Later grades get to read MacArthur's Farewell Address and Thatcher's eulogy of Reagan. But nada about Texas' own LBJ.

Yeah teach the bible while banning lessons on slavery. Sure everything is fine, just fine. White supremacist, Christian Nationalists. Enemies of democracy. I say give Texas to Mexico and let them make short work of them. Win, win

It's important to study religious stories, but doing that for just one tradition seems very, I dunno, "respecting an establishment of religion." Read it all, or do it at home, it's not complicated.

Why does my non-Christian 3rd grader need to read any version of Paul's conversion along the road to Damascus? Surely, there is a non-religious story about changing our minds that would be better suited.

So is a Muslim/budist kid suppose to be forced to listen to this? Isn’t it against their first amendment not being able to listen their holy text? Why just the bible?

I'm not completely against this, honestly. Know thy enemy isn't just about identification but understanding... and there's no sweeter feeling than crushing a Christian Nationalist under the weight of evidence presented in their own Gospel that they may be Nationalist but they are not Christian.
