My family revitalizes abandoned homes, maintains them, and rents them fairly. I'm very proud of our work. We also play games of all descriptions, especially on a table. I like math and science most, but am interested in everything. He/Him/His

They say posting your art is the best thing to do here when you first start. My art is a card game called The House of Wisdom. It's about the amazing discoveries of the Islamic Golden Age; things that you know about, but maybe don't know where they came from.

In a bar for wing night. They've got country music playing. KDKA runs a chyron over whatever police procedural is on. That's three things I never do. And that's where I learned Donnie Iris died.

There's been a lot of talk about patriotism lately and I hear two different kids; there's the kind that takes, says "this is mine so it can't be yours," but I prefer the kind that gives, says "I am part of this and I want you, if you want it, to be part of it too." Which one sounds better to you?

When I am president the first law I will dictate into being (because that's how it's done now) is that if your product, for example, a bag of frozen chicken nuggets, includes a ziplock as part of its packaging then it must be independently verified, by me, to actually work.

Dear Congress: remove this national threat (and embarrassment) now. And if the VP thinks about doing the same thing then take him too.

I worked on a building that has a power draw so big they had to rebuild the neighborhood lines completely. It has a multi-ton flywheel to bridge the gap between loss of grid power and the diesel generators spinning up. And it's totally worth it. But it's not a datacenter. It's a children's hospital.

Datacenters aren't inherently bad, but it's obvious they're not worth their true cost in shared resources and environmental impact. People will put up with a lot to help each other, but not to make one guy rich.

This has been my only grail game. Just sitting there waiting for it to come back around. I hope this gets done right and not done in a way where there is only an expensive delux-ified version.

Yup, it’s really happening folks. I don’t have any details yet, but I will likely be involved in some way. www.ghostgalaxy.com/blogs/news/n...

50 years ago, the Attorney General went to prison for committing crimes to cover up the criminal actions of the President of the United States. The fallout from Watergate led to the building of a wall of independence at DOJ that lasted half a century. That wall has been shattered by Trump's people.

Attorney General Todd Blanche says there's a "misperception that there's this separation and independence between the Department of Justice and the White House." "I work for President Trump."

Allegheny County set the standard and made history with the first county-level paid parental leave policy in the country. This victory reflects the power of organizing & advocacy. No parent should have to choose between a paycheck & caring for their newborn. Now it's time to guarantee paid family.

Well that's just great news ain't it. Good thing there isn't an unprecedentedly horrible winter on the way. %

If you voted early, please convince at least 3 friends, family, coworkers, or neighbors to vote early, too. The margins in each state need to be so wide that MAGA can’t get away with shady tactics to change the results.

Georgia voters have already cast more than 1 million ballots, offering a revealing glimpse of the state's electorate -- and numbers that offer more encouraging signs so far for Democrats than Republicans. A closer look: #gapol www.ajc.com/politics/202...

As a person who has ever had their phone shut off by a carrier it is incomprehensible to me that the caller-id spoofing robocalls can't be stopped at the source. You don't know who's accessing your system? How? That should be easy!

If you can convince everyone that their own best interest is somehow met by hurting everyone else, then all you have is a whole lot of hurt people and a few con men sitting in castles. The only way through is together.

In case anyone listening to me still needs a reason to vote for anyone-but-a-Republican with 17 days to go. We say it a lot but this time it's absolutely true that the silence tells you everything you need to know.

Jay Kuo@nycjayjay.bsky.social

Because of course. A lot of bad crap will be disclosed and land on voters *after* the midterms.

We know that this isn’t true because when people gain access to Medicaid (eg through expansion in states like Ohio), they are more likely to have a usual source of care and are less likely to have unmet health needs. And thanks to Medicare, seniors are the age group with the lowest uninsured rate.

Q: Were Medicare and Medicaid mistakes? Vivek Ramaswamy: I believe they were. I think the evidence would show that it has harmed the very people that it was created to actually help

A gallon of gasoline weighs about six pounds. It needs roughly an equivalent mass of oxygen to burn, but oxygen is between a fifth and a quarter of the atmosphere by weight so you need 25 pounds of air which is a cube just under seven feet on a side. One gallon. Seven foot cube.

Trump has attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar for years. He is vindictive, hateful, and abusive of power. This baseless raid was meant to intimidate and silence her and the communities she represents. Rep. Omar continues to stand on the right side of history and we’re right there with her.
