Dear CNN, Yes, our view was blocked by the other car at the moment of impact, but I easily saw the ice car raise up and down as it ran over him. They chased him and deliberately ran over him. I'm disappointed, no angry, that you couldn't just say that. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Oh gosh! Don't tell me the car driven by ICE agents running into him had any impact, I simply couldn't take it! What is this passive voice bullshit CNN?

Oh, HE broke HIS legs? I mean passive voice is egregious, but it would still sound orders of magnitude better if you used "His legs were broken" or so. It would be terribad, but at least you will just hide what happened, not put the thing on him.

This is an abuse of passive tense to obscure what happened. Better would be “ICE employee swerved a large SUV to run over pedestrian, breaking both his legs”

I'll be the pedantic asshole and point out that technically, this isn't even passive voice: from a purely grammatical standpoint, this is actually assigning agency to the victim (i.e. victim blaming)! CNN has become such a massive shithole, this is wildly embarrassing.

On top of that it is torturous abuse of language. Okay, so the language is one that has a penchant of dragging others into dark alleys, taking their vocabulary at a knife-point, and nicking any loose grammar, but still this is cruel and unusual even for such miscreant :D

The video is so clear, ICE will use deadly force on anyone, any time, and for any reason. Then they will lie until they get caught.

All your life you've ignored that voice telling you to stop, think, and feel. And it's too late now. But hey, don't worry about it and you won't ever feel that loss...
