Somebody should invent a socioeconomic system which is good at allocating resources

What about a 3 branched system that contains checks and balances to maintain equal support of all citizens? And set a max net worth for people. If you hit $1B, you won and any new income goes to the people that got you there.

No need, we've done it. Multiple times. Resource allocation has been solved. What hasn't been solved is inventing a socioeconomic system that provides for everyone's needs while satisfying everyone's greed. That seems impossible*.

The one we have will when each human being on the planet is included equally in a globally standard process of fixed cost money creation. Benefit cascades from correcting the foundational inequity. When we get paid our option fees instead of having them stolen.

Too large a portion of Americans have fully bought into the Prosperity Gospel and now we have completely turned over governance of the United States to people of extreme wealth.

It's a left-leaning Social Democracy. Not Communism or Capitalism which steal wealth from workers to some invented elite class of people. A system when it works helps people while permitting fair trade and livable incomes for most people. There's a reason the Haudenosaunee have had it for 400+ years

In 2000, President Clinton had a budget that had a small surplus. George W Bush cut taxes for the rich Mitch McConnell threatened to shut down the government if Obama raised taxes on the rich Trump cut taxes for the rich . . again McCarthy threatened to shut down if Biden raised taxes. Now Trump

Capitalism + highly progressive income taxation to distribute public goods like healthcare, housing, and education seemed to work pretty well... until it didn't. Capital gonna capital. The fight against oligarchs and autocrats is eternal.

You mean like centralized planning in a fully socialist system. You know the ones that the United States likes to tear down because it turns out they don't like doing business with the United States likes to tear down because turns out they don't like giving us their oil.

N. European countries Norway, Sweden - have clean streets, good cheap transport, good education, healthcare, high standard of living, higher taxes, higher wages - operate on a socialist form of capitalism & those without so much money due to economic sanctions still fair better life experience wise

Yeah, that totally exists. I think they're calling it "One World Government"; and everyone would be a part of it whether they like it or not, and everyone will get a social allowance, and the food and education they need is supplied. <-This is claimed, but I doubt it will function for long.

They have. It's never been fully implemented though. The closest we've come in the realm of universal healthcare is in our beloved NHS; successive Governments have been trying to privatised it by stealth.

Just a democracy where people can represent you & money can not. Imagine that. You vote for goals, by having talked on your governmentbook profile about needing that. Decisions how to achieve a goal are made purely by empirical projects & tests that slowly expand if they work. Sounds crazy right?

Tax people and corps based on networth instead of income cut the military budget because it is hilariously over funded, creating a UBI program directly tied to AI utilization across industries. Work on international tax agreements to prevent capital flight. There you go.

Whenever new liquidity enters the market it should go directly into a public investment account system rather than directly to the top investment banks. Individuals would each have their equal share and could decide to keep it there or transfer it out.

Market socialism or a democratic marketplace will do the trick. Eliminate shareholder primacy. Read the book The Divine Right of Capital: Dethroning the Corporate Aristocracy by Marjorie Kelly. It was a game-changer for me.

They exist, the problem is you have humans that are gatekeepers. Humanity is functional 93% of the time on a sliding scale. The 7% wants to consume what we made, generating the inequalities. The corrupt 7% is why no system how perfect will allow US-All equality. We need better gatekeepers.

What a great idea. It should be basic support, with a constant income...maybe...all encompassing. You could call it something catchy like, oh. I don't know. Universal basic income. Yeah, that'll do until I think of something better

The most essential thing is to prevent oligarchic fiefdoms, something all systems are vulnerable to. Free markets and capitalism work pretty well as long as anti-trust is strictly enforced as its own good. Break up companies and fortunes just because.

You mean a universal basic income? That would be a much fairer - and more transparent - way to issue the nation's currency.

Democratic ecosocialism, with cooperatives model for commerce. Hundreds of thousands of people around the world already work within cooperatives! But even just joining unions helps in short term.

Yeah, not sure if Karl touched on that, he tended to see things in terms of resources which Capital would seek to control to maintain their positions of power. I don't know if you could argue that the equitable redistribution of resources would equate to conservation of flora + fauna...

They did that long ago that is call the open market. IT is the best on possible, because of how it feeds back. But people don't want that. They want their preferred ideology or people to get benefits and those they don't like to get harmed and will enforce that with laws and regulations damaging it

No problem. That's on my list of things to do. It's right after 1. FTL drive 2. matter duplicator 3. invisibility cloak

Oh, idealist, it seems only yesterday we dragged our knuckles out the gorge with our amygdalas still considered the newer part of the brain. We will eradicate ourselves long before we can use our opposable thumbs to learn to live together.

Two things come to my mind, which should be one, „Market Economy Capitalism“ „Level Playing Field“. (The problem is that capitalists found out that capitalism is so much more SATISFYING without a level playing field)

Getting rid of capitalism would help, but it's probably a pipe-dream. Better to regulate it to the point where it can just barely function, and tax the shit out of the rich. Use the revenue for Universal Basic Income, free health care, and good public education.

Let's face it, capitalism is probably the fastest way to build an economy. Unfortunately, it's probably also the fastest way to destroy one. Outside of pitchforks, torches, and a guillotine.

The problem is not the socioeconomic system. The problem is PEOPLE! Capitalism works fine until it is co-opted by the rich using their money to buy-off politicians & justices to go from money making to power taking. Capitalism should be capped by flat rate taxation-NO LOOPHOLES FOR ANYONE!

A flat rate tax is actually worse on those who make less and easier on those who make more. A progressive tax system puts pressure against the act of hoarding wealth. But capitalism itself is flawed in its very design by appealing to humanities worst traits. It benefits only a minority of people.

Rates needn’t be equal for all earning groups. If you think a flat ~50% rate on high earners instead of the current tax loophole program where 100% of income can be shielded or a flat 10% on low earners is worse, you are wrong. BTW there is no system which prevents bad human behaviors. People suck!

^This. It's what Social Democrats want to do, but they get called Communists by DINOs and their brethren that are even more right.

Actually capitalism works fine. What we have stopped being capitalism a long time ago. A company like Tesla would have gone under cause they never really made a profit. Same with Twitter.

In the modern age we need to take advantage of instant mass communication and stop trying to keep things in convenient capitalism/socialism/communism labels. Rejecting universal healthcare because socialism is asinine We can have free enterprise AND keep citizens alive They aren't mutually exclusive

First of all, it's "socio-economic" with a hyphen. Second, it's called a "Command Economy" and you absolutely do not want to live under one. Life should never be about the crap in your garage.
