So you gain nothing by agreeing to his ‘deals’, he’ll basically welch out on his side. Is this tactic central to his book, “The Art of The Deal”?

Dmitry - I'm seeing lots of mentions of the EU Anti-Coercion Instrument bouncing around. Is it really as powerful a tool as people are making it out to be? What would the consequences be if it were activated?

It's not some magical weapon from the stories. It's basically just a set of instruments the EU gave itself that legally allows it to punch back when threatened. You can think of it as EU IEEPA. It's only as strong as the will of the EU, and the exposure of the US. So... modestly so.

My longstanding view is that Trump is sabre rattling over Greenland to bounce European governments into agreeing not to block his soon-to-be-made deal with the Greenlanders. He'll offer to make every Greenlander a millionaire in exchange for US annexation. And Europe will agree to save NATO.

Sure, but the 300 million elect those people. That’s how a representative democracy works. There is no hiding. This is an unfriendly act from the American people towards Europe. Fuck America
