Sadly, due to this meme and the fact that you still basically owe a 20% tip, people are staying home completely because they cannot afford the price increases. So while the business must increase their prices not to get rich but to stay in business, overall they will be out of business. 😔

Yep If no one goes out to eat, the workers lose their jobs, the owners lose their business, and coincidentally they have taken away the social services that would have helped all these people while looking for a new job. Such a great plan. Winners all 🤬

Amazes me how incredibly short-sighted these people are. You took away immigrants. You took away all of the money they paid into the system without taking benefits back. You took away the laborers. You took away the medical caregivers. You took away the decency of helping the less fortunate.

I've been trying to make people understand this for ages. Some restaurants have turned away from the excessive portion sizes to to a normal serving in order alleviate as much of the cost as possible. We still need to support them as frequently as we can afford.

Went out today with my partner for a drive down to the beach. We each had a hot dog, split some fries and split an iced tea… $25.65! Can’t make it up!

Yeah, those businesses that have Republican campaign signs all over their property are advertising to me that they don't want my business and that they support anti-American politicians. Brilliant move.

Wholesale chicken wings are roughly $1.70 a pound right now at worst, with some variance. A year ago, they were $1.10-$1.25 a pound. While there has been a marked increase, there’s no good reason why this hypothetical restaurant which may or may not even exist should be paying nearly 4x more.

Transportation costs have increased. All our vendors have slapped another fuel cost on every invoice. Perhaps OP isn't real, but I update our costs daily for the restaurant I work for and trash bags went up $3 in a week. Gloves are up $10 from last month. Dozens of other products are up $0.50-$3.00

Minimum wage was: $7.25 200 Months Ago $7.25 100 Months Ago $7.25 50 Months Ago $7.25 24 Months Ago $7.25 12 Months Ago $7.25 Today

These restaurants need to raise hell to the government not pass on their burdens to their consumers who are in exact the same boat. There is no excuse for price gauching.

They are all either going to go out of business due to cost going up for everyone not just them. Also due to the fact who knows what you can eat and not especially restaurant food supply. Mystery meats bad lettuce and who knows what else.

This may have been accurate for a brief moment during the covid Spike, but this is not accurate for today's prices. Yes, prices have gone up but not to this extreme. This is a meme from 2021/2022

The reason I go to small family owned businesses I wish there was a logical way to bring our own carry out boxes- like we do at the grocery Recycle/ wash and use more than once. Save the restaurant $$

Accurate or not, the prices these places are charging today are putting their food outside of the ability of too many customers to pay. I guess I feel for them, but if their profit margins are too fine to stay in business, that's life. They provide nothing I can't do at home except atmosphere.

There seems to be some kind of belief that people are required to go out to eat. I enjoy trying new foods and new venues. The bottom line, though, is that restaurant dining is a very easy spending item to cut out when it gets too dear. Owners need to figure that problem out, not customers.

All Rep Frank Pallone Jr (NJ6) knows how to do is whine on twitter all day. He's too old & been in office too long. I'm voting for #HillaryHerzig Nov 3rd, so are my neighbors & family. I had enough of the selfish lazy incompetent parasite Pallone. It's time for new energy & hands on leadership.

I went down to Local Restaurant and talked to Local Owner. He was wearing a MAGA hat and said he was happy that ICE had raided his kitchen and carried off all of his staff to an extradition flight to Eswatini. He said "we all knew it was going to take a while for Trump's plans to work"

So if I eat less fried food and finish what I order in the restaurant, I should be OK? Nah....I'm still going to vote...in hopes of eliminating our MAGA problem.

I’m a manager in F&B business. U can blame this on the dumb tariffs. Well it’s not dumb. It’s evil. If u r republican and u want to raise taxes, u find a sneaky way to do it so your constituent dont fry u. Tariffs r taxes.

So how can the inflation rate only rose by 0.4% since Jan 2025? Inflation was 3% when Biden left office. We are told inflation is only 3.4% now. Everything told or said by this administration are just blatant lies. VOTE BLUE!

Let them know. It is time small businesses understood that voting for Republicans was destroying them. Not 6 months ago, not today, but forever. Cancer starts small. Republicans start in church and "freedom." Theirs.

At this point we need we need to pick the restaurants we want to keep open. For me it's not a chain restaurant, it will be a local taco place.

If your favorite local restaurant raises their prices or closes its doors, do NOT blame the restaurant. Blame #GOP and #DJT. They did this.

The restaurant where I worked closed because we couldn't keep up with increasing costs. The owner didn't think she could raise prices. Customers told us after we closed, we would have paid more to keep you open. I said, they say that now, but we know better. Replies here just confirm that.

This is why I closed my chocolate factory in early 2025. Can't stay afloat with such insane rising costs and refused to throw good money after bad

When someone says, "I don't believe it!" that's not an argument. That borders on a mental health statement. When he employs a contemptuous, diminutive "bud", it's because his penis fell off--he's compensating. Might want to take back the "pal"; if it was effective it would have worked on you.

Those are crazy prices. You guys are getting soaked. A 40-pound case (280 to 320 pieces) of plain, raw chicken wings in Saskatchewan Canada, costs an average of $88 to $131 USD. How are they justifying what they are charging you?

I owned a Mexican restaurant 15 years ago when avocados were being targeted by narcos. My avo cost went from $800/mo to over $2000. It's insane the pressures of the restaurant business. Support your local restaurants, and don't gripe about the price increases, they're just trying to survive.

Haven’t heard anyone gripe. But none of the customers got pay increases at that scale either. So they have to save something to stay in their wallet capacity. Restaurants won’t be the first thing people cut out. But many will cut back on the number of meals.

Lucky American restaurants don't pay their staff eh? And as their customers voted for this, they can stop bitching and suck it up Also get the fuck away from Cuba, Venezuela, the middle east and Greenland What do you people want? Sympathy? It's your own fault Fucking fix it you pathetic morons

How do you know the fictional restaurant mentioned doesn't pay their imaginary employees huge wages with massive benefits and free meals too?

I think you missed my point. The post is a an old meme about a fictional restaurant. You assigned wage irresponsibility to a non-entity. But yes, all workers deserve a living wage. NB: I personally earned more money working in restaurants & catering than I did as a QA Specialist for a tech co.

My health insurances up 25%. Disability insurance 25% each yr for the last 5. Car..no claims/tickets up 10% every 6 mo. Home insurances 20-25% each for past 4 years, no claims. Vet 50% over last 3 yrs. Anything from Lowes for building up2-3 times &little in stock but you can order. Food? You know.

you are making two classic blunders the 1st is to assume that what is true for you, or even you and all your friends, is true for the other 325,000,000 people in the U the 2nd is that data trumps anecdotes; the data on inflation show that prices have doubled since 2000

If it's official, it's false. No matter what. Inflation, unemployment, KIA in Iran, diesel farytales, ballroom numbers, national debt, job numbers, the weight and health of the president, everything and anything is false. And nobody says anything. It's to late, we are falling already over the cliff.
