The fundamental problem with low-carb diets is that bread is *delicious*.

The fundamental problem is that they blame a staple food group, rather than over processing, overconsumption and physical inactivity.

I have been low carb for over 7 yrs now. My saving grace is Hero Bread. Their seeded bread at 1 net carb per slice is over- the-top good. I get it at our local Publix but before that I ordered directly. Their low carb biscuits (which I order) are very good as well. Not cheap but worth it carb-wise..

This is 100% true. Of all the thing I thought I would miss; cake, pasta, chips, rice, french fries, ice cream Bread is by far the worst. I can do without the rest TBH. But starch is a chain of glucose molecules, so bread is, literally, puffy sugar. Which explains why it's so good.

Have you had "hero" breads? They make zero net carb, high soluble fiber breads that are really amazingly close, especially the sliced white bread and wraps. I'm all for eating the right amount of carbs to retain glycogen and strength but these breads help me get enough fiber and lower calories

I ate diligently ate a ketogenic diet for a good 5 years and lost 50 pounds. I was very disciplined until I started dating someone who loved carbs and I gave in to peer pressure. I rediscovered the glory of bread and rice, and now, I have gained 30 and can't get back into the low-carb lifestyle 😫

Yes, this is the downside. I'm still trying to moderate it, but I'm not going ultra-militant about avoiding carbs like I did when I was younger.

Know what tastes even more delicious than bread? Or cake. Of french fries. Or pizza? Watching the numbers on the bathroom scale go down each week towards your weight goal.

I had to cut out dairy, sugar, coffee and bread for a diet to resolve a fungal problem in my gut. I could handle all of it but so many times, I would have killed to be able to have a sandwich with real bread. That was what I missed most.

I discovered the secret to being on a low carb diet, whilst eating lots and lots and lots of carbs. Lots and lots of low intensity exercise. Do enough, and then high carbs are essential for a low carb diet. 😍

im going to disagree on this bit, bread is not nearly as good as it was in the late 1900's and early in next century. maybe homemade is still fine, IDK, who got time for that?
