Sort of happen in the animated series? It was the Mob killing Clark instead of the CIA. Journalist was getting nosy! Story was about how he can justify 'surviving' the attack and if he would have to pretend Clark 'died'. Mobsters was very confused when he showed up 'alive'. Ending is <3

Then there was the episode "Knight Time" where Brainiac annihilated Batman... only to discover that it was actually Superman wearing Batman's suit. "Kal-El. This development was highly improbable." "Today's been full of surprises." *PUNCH!*

Well unless you count Cadmus but even they wouldn't off Clark in this situation. They were just paranoid about capes, very cold-war-we-need-a-nuke-too-mindset. PARANOID when they found out there was an alt-time-line where the Justice league conquered earth and that the watch tower had a SPACE LASER.

Would resemble that Pink Panther film where all the world's top assassins can't kill Clouseau. And I am totally here for that.

This was done, but not as a comedy. Superman: Secret Identity is the comic, a four issue limited series. Kurt Busiek was the writer, and he’s known for having written some amazing stuff, including a comic called Astro City. Consider checking them both out! 🌞

But in the end the hair loss thing they tried on Castro actually works on him and he gets really insecure, quits the superhero gig and ends up working for some trashy tabloid, not answering Lois' calls.

"All-Star Superman" has a nice bit where clumsy Clark keeps bumping into people on the street to push them out of the way of oncoming cars, falling equipment, etc.

Later, an imprisoned Lex Luthor patiently explains to Clark that he could be stronger, smarter and less clumsy, but lacks the motivation to improve because Supes is always around to save the day -- the physical and moral decay of humanity at large that Lex is trying to stop by defeating Superman.
