"This could have been an email." Aragorn whispers. "He ALWAYS pulls this shit in 'Any Other Business" Boromir replies, quietly. "It's why Faramir marked himself as busy when the invite went out."

Elrond tells the long story of the One Ring, from its forging in the Mountain of Fire, to its betrayal of Isildur at the Gladden Fields. Frodo is startled to learn that Elrond himself marched with Gil-Galad in the Last Alliance against Sauron, more than three thousand years ago.

Phew, glad that if Russia attacks us on a Monday we'll be back to normal and shopping in Tesco by the Friday.

Just heard somebody on the news say "Protest is a tactic like broccoli is an ingredient in a dish" in a way that implied he thought it was a clever and incisive analogy, and not simply confusing and stupid.

Politics is just a bizarre experiment on the populace. Don't believe me? Labour and Tory Labor a Tory Laboratory There, I think that has definitively proven that.

Okay I saw The Movie, and I think I'm on team She's Not Really A Manipulator - she seems too spacy and socially unaware to be any good at it.

Please, just once in my life can I hear someone gravely speak of someone else by saying "they've had a menty b"/"they've suffered a menty b"

I really like The Firm but every time I watch it I realise that it relies on just far too many damn coincidences. He accidentally opens the wrong cupboard in Avery's hotel room and discovers all the files? The truck filled with what looks like mattress padding under the convenient escape window?

The fax that luckily just rolls under the machine in a way that makes absolutely no sense (why is there no tray - this is a massively well resources legal firm)? The wife of another lawyer just happens to see Mitch when he is 'hiding' in the city, and just happens to mention it to her husband?

He visits a client (only because they happen to be just up the street) who just happens to mention the critical overbilling at exactly the right moment? The mafia happens to visit town at exactly the right time and the FBI agent happens to mention exactly where they be staying?

This thread explains clearly why that stupid Tesla video is NOT a flying car, and could not ever be one.

Please submit your small ideas for fixing Britain to the Small-Ideas.org website. It’s a new charitable initiative I’ve set up to try and make sure life’s potholes don’t get ignored. Working with two charities and a cross party panel to turn your ideas into policy then try and make it happen.

something very funny about the Bayeux Tapestry getting 5 stars after 940 years, as if Bishop Odo of Bayeux has been sat at home all this time waiting for the review, absolutely raging - "I gave that Guardian journalist a press comp on OPENING NIGHT for god's sake"

Could there be just a really big spreadsheet with all the parties and their policies on all the major subjects listed? Would that be helpful? I think that would be helpful.
