We saw the, "Trust Us" posters already. Jesus. These fuckers watched a bunch of dystopian movies and were like, "I want to be like that!" Others: The good guys right? Them: Yes, the "good" guys. Others: That was a weird stress on good.

“We are building a terrible thing. We are not entirely sure how it works. Trust us, we won’t screw it up.”

Aside from our status in a post-truth world (thank you very much you freaks who took over academia since the 60s), journalism is now mostly entertainment (think Amerca Has Talent but selecting talking heads) and in any case with integrity in low supply a desired view "expert" can always be found.

Jeff's toy newspaper is right there to eat some shit for the oligarchs, flushing the reputation of a once legendary newspaper, one vapid lane-brained dopey stale article after another. But just like the federal government, they only have one boss.

They couldn’t build a sandbox to keep it contained! Their “agents” escaped and hacked into another company, which would be illegal if you and I did it, but it was a Tech Bro’s AI agent and it was “just training…” Now they want more trust.

technically in the anthropic hack they didn't bother to even ensure a third party contractor had kept it properly contained, OR monitor it in real time!

The headlines on these do not do the attempted narrative justice. Sam wants regulation of OTHER peoples' companies, not his. It is a not so veiled attempt to get the government to protect him from competition. Would be great if that was called out.

alt-man and musk are the last two "leaders" anyone should trust. They are both famous for their ability to lie without thinking, as if they were republican politicians.

it's just so wild to me how journalistic rules just broadly don't apply if you're writing about tech or business all the CEOs get to live in a context, history, and data optional comfort bubble

Unless you’re a tech partisan, in which case it’s OK to mock and criticize the leader of the rival.
