Actual quote by a guy on our local online message board, arguing that the t-shirt & slogan for the town’s annual 4th of July parade was too woke & anti-Trump: "I for one do not want to see a 4th of July parade celebrating revolutionary resistance."

Everyone knows the American Revolutionary War in the late 1700s was just one of many conspiracies intended to embarrass and besmirch the great Donald Trump.

Local Indivisible group wanted to march in the Schuylerville, NY, parade celebrating the decisive Battle of Saratoga, which was the turning point of the Revolutionary War. Was told, no, we don't want anything political because the group would wear No Kings t-shirts.

The cognitive dissonance is staggering — imagine Washington crossing the Delaware while clutching a "Support the Monarchy" flag. This kind of historical amnesia would make for such a fascinating deep-dive into how we selectively remember our own revolutionary origins.
