Good for LA 2 good strong women as their choices! Why LA is the 20th largest GDP in the World! Democratic rule since 2002! Smart city of 3.87 million! They for-sure punch above their weight! Why Republicans bash it! Lost again! No one in the Race! 26 years under democrats by 2032! Nice

He still had more support than we should be comfortable with But indeed a relief he's out of the running. So now it's down to the seasoned professional vs the progressive newcomer. And I personally would be happy w/either. But I don't live in LA But I do know both women will pour their hearts into it

Well, he can do that without pretending this farce of thinking that he could win that election. Harris took that district by 30 points. But they thought a reality TV joke was enough to overcome that? The fuss over this by the right just baffles me.

How about requiring more signatures to get on a ballot so you don't have 60 candidates to research & vet since nobody really does that for us anymore. If you can't get 20% of your district behind you before primaries you shouldn't be in it. And a State of nearly 40million people, the Governor's /1

Should also have a min. of 8 million committed voters to be on the ballot. Otherwise it just frivolously draws votes away from legitimate candidates, wasting time, $$ & resources. And making ballots overly complicated. Rank choice voting just further complicates voting expecting us to. strategize/2

Trump still claims—with zero proof—the 2020 Presidential election was stolen. Why not do the same in November? Instead of disrupting voting, why not paralyze the election results with endless court challenges? Mike Johnson just might refuse to seat newly elected reps. bsky.app/profile/vinc...

Trump channels the badges scene from Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Trump’s no-proof claim that the California primary was rigged may be a preview of November: Legally challenge Dem Congressional wins and have Speaker Mike Johnson refuse to seat the new Congress. vincewade.com/no-proof/

It was over for Pratt no matter what, all of those Raman and Porter voters weren't voting for Pratt in the November election anyway..... But, yeah, good news.

Glad he is out. (Never should have been in.) Bass v Raman will be important choice for LA. Two strong public servants with contrasting views. Both meritorious in her own way. Good for LA.

"It’s over for former reality TV villain Spencer Pratt." Unfortunately, not likely. He’s a new hero for the right. He’ll very likely be seen frequently on Fox for “expert opinion”, on his way a to hosting a new podcast for equally deranged right-wingers. 🤨

Definitely, whew! I am thrilled!!! Raman may win. Trump will declare fraud and rigging! Did you see his interview with Kristen Walker? She was relentless and strong-voiced. What pushback!!!! So proud of her.

Too bad there wasn't any palatable LA Dem candidates on the ticket. It was a choice of staying with the failed & reckless policies or risk a Trumpian candidate. Instead, now it's a choice between more of the same failed & reckless policies and now, potentially worse.😬

Oh but it's a rigged election, didn't you know?? The U.S. is saddled with a president so corrupt he will tell lies over & over about any election that doesn't go his way. Never mind the lasting damage to democracy. Altho, TBF, I'm sure that's the point...

Oh, he screamed tga live on Meet the Peess yesterday, the Orange Idiot had a full blown red-faced screeching tantrum, insulted Welker multiple times, even tossed his microphone on the floor before stepping on it & stumbling away. He had to reach out to her to steady himself when he tried to stand!

What staggers me with US society is that anyone can vote for an inexperienced reality TV person in to a position of power. Look at the Orange buffoon as a prime example. He is intent on surrounded himself with similar people all probably helped by Musk interference

My high school AP Government students are appalled each year to learn that there are essentially NO MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS to be a member of Congress, or president, or even SCOTUS. One young fellow blurted out before thinking last Fall - "No wonder things are fuckef up!!" He's nor wrong...

I laughed and agreed. He earned his A for the course, wants to go to law school and become a public advocate. Many older folks castigate kids today, but that is silly, there are some awesome, thoughtful, decent kids out here who want to do good and make things better for all.

It looks like a coalition of Green, Labour and Lib-Dems might be needed to keep him out. I've always despaired at the lack of intelligence of the general public. Now, however, that has been exacerbated by social media and doom scrolling.

True If we had a closed primaries like we used to it would be a Dem vs Rep. Repubs wanted this open jungle primary because they felt the other way wasn't fair they got voters to agree and I bet half the people didn't know what yes meant. Now R want it changed back!

Not a Bass fan but it seems we cannot find anyone willing to stand up to lawless federal law enforcement. Do folks believe this endless lawlessness will end with a better country for anyone?

Well good. By all accounts, he really is a prat. I generally hate our wide-open primary where two of the same party can end up squaring off against one another in the general, but dumping him sounds like a general win.

Core Meanings & VariationsStupid or Foolish Person: The most common use. It refers to someone who is arrogant, foolish, or acts incompetently. Example: "Don't listen to him. He's just a right prat."
