Seems like it's being resurrected. Like Emperor Palpatine.

Wow I didn’t know dome cost that much, inflation is real

More money to Musk

We'll have to buy from the secondhand missile store

Isn't this just Reagan's untenable SDI ("Star Wars") program (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strateg...) revived, only at a mindbogglingly steeper cost? Billions more for grifters.

they're making it with two newly discovered elements: Boondinum and Dogglonium. The real expense, tho, is the location: Simultaneously within the pockets of Musk and Trump himself.

They also realized that if somehow it was actually done, it’s the end of MAD, so in many ways it’s the same thing as a nuclear launch and could be the trigger to launch nukes before it’s operational

Elon's other businesses are dying so he needs some handouts ok?

I'm certain lots of gold will be involved somehow

Polystyrene from China with gilding.

Teapot Golden Dome

They’re never going to actually make a functioning version of this. Still basically science fiction, but also going to be led by incompetent people

You know the old defense contractor mantra, George? No bucks, no Buck Rogers.

It'd be more value for us if it were being made out of gold. Instead it's going to be a very expensive lemon.

It’s up there. At least for land based. Land based always leads to a lot of whining; so it turned out probably more effective to do water based. With the huge bonus it improves protection of Naval assets.

Better idea. Use a super computer and AI to hack any incoming and send it back where it came from. Will cost less and teach someone a lesson at the same time

That’s a lot of giveaways to Trump’s preferred defense contractors

Grift isn’t cheap

Time for another Moody’s downgrade?

Does he know that gold is a very weak metal?

Does he believe the US is being bombarded with missile fire?

no not that dome budget

I’m guessing that number actually underestimates the real cost of developing and implementing a *functional* dome that covers all of America.

We will get our fiscal house in order by spending hundreds of billions of dollars building a gigantic golden dome around the United States

Who’s going to get it? Elon musk, the biggest welfare queen in the US.
