Did you know that the Fourth of July fireworks could put a dog through this much fear and anxiety? 😔 When choosing how to celebrate, keep in mind that it should be fun for everyone, no matter the species!

It gives so many signs how this pathetic country got put into place, sadly but saddeR of how much it takes too much time for a retard to figure out why everything seems to not understand to feel like a dipshit why it was normal and calm before it was taken away and haven't got respect ever since. 😔🥱

We have 1 dog that used to react that way not only with fireworks, but loud thunder and even people yelling; which my daughter tends to do watching football/footie and now the World Games; soccer matches. Benadryl did wonders for our little Lucy, she still reacts but not nearly as bad.

I had a 100 pound yellow lab that would crawl in my lap, as we laid on the bathroom floor, and shake so hard, i thought she was having convulsions. I hate fireworks!

Our puppy used to head for the shower stall on the 4th and stayed there panting most of the night. Our boy , "Tedy" was very stressed on the 4th.

Poor baby I’m so very sorry! Our fourth isnt celebrating! We put a thunder shirt on ours, give low grade tranquilizers, radio blasted, sitting in the bathroom, door closed! 😔 Large combined schedule events I deal with- But those all nighter rogue M-80’ from adults acting like kids is the worst!

2200 years we've loved them. My dog panics when a pot lid is dropped in the sink, or hears distant gunfire, army base big guns, low flying aircraft, jake's brakes on semis, loud Harleys, backup alarms, thunder w/i 5 or 10 miles, lightning strikes, etc. Let people live and enjoy magic of fireworks.

They need to be banned. We have to take our dog to a rural community for fireworks night in UK, the Eid, then Chinese New Year, then more New Year, plus the arseholes who set them off for no apparent reason.

what most don't know is that most critters have nerve endings attached to their hair follicles- it's how they gage a sudden approach or attack- every percussive sound is an inescapable slap all over their body and the noise amplifies their instinctive flight response. it ain't fun for them.

I had a dog who ran around the house and tried to hide as my inconsiderate neighbors shot off professional style fireworks literally over my house. I would put him in the bathroom with the fan on and played music really loud to try to drown it out.

My husband slept in the shower with our terrified dog one July 4 because of the nonstop fireworks in our neighborhood. We went to Canada the next year. Both dogs are “used to it” now, but we all - humans and canines - hate fireworks.

It's the 3rd right now and had to medicate my rescue about 8:30 ,last year was really a nightmare. Her doctor has prescribed medication for tonight and tomorrow night. It doesn't put her to sleep, it merely makes her much less stressed at loud noises. I thank Lizzy's great doctor.

Oh no! This is the ONE thing I hate about this time of year. I love fireworks, but what they do to our babies can be difficult. Keep your furbabies wrapped tight. This will pass! Lots of hugs, comfort and kisses…. Let them know you love them. They need this right now, pet parents!!!!!!

Dog groomers use a covering that goes over the nose and on to the ears to block noise of dryer after the bath. I realise fireworks close by are higher decibel level but anything that would help your pup cope is helpful.

That used to be my dog too. 😔 I wish they would get rid of the fireworks altogether and just do the drones in place of firework shows. I’ve seen a few, but it needs to go 100%. The loud noises give me PTSD as well.

I dread tonight and tomorrow night. My three rescues (one a ten month old puppy) go bullshit when my neighbors start setting off their fireworks. And they could give two fucks that the explosions are hurting such gentle animals for their short term high of living in a fucking fascist dictatorship.

Can you all who have pets PLEASE 🙏 put earmuffs for pets and comfort jackets on them during fireworks 🎆 = PLEASE PLAN AHEAD FOR SITUATIONS THAT YOU KNOW WILL BE TRIGGERING FOR THE INNOCENT DEFENSELESS BEINGS WHO RELY ON US 🇺🇸

We have not purchased fireworks in years—like 20 years—and now we need to get our pups a prescription because here in Tennessee they begin fireworks the day they go on sale and the noise will last a month. And we have a neighbor who believes huge mortars are the way to go.

3 dogs ago like this. Next dog, into window, gleefully watch & bark at fireworks, recognizing the sound. She was full extrovert:) Having learned from that dog, current dog was acclimatized to them by taking her outside to watch them with us. Our oohs & aahs seemed to help her get it. Worth a try.

My dog, a rescue picked up by animal control as a puppy, hides under furniture and cries. We give her gabapentin and play classical music. Fire works are illegal here, except for professional displays. But we have a neighbor who uses fireworks on random days all summer.

Some groomers use a sound muffler - a knitted head band - over dogs' ears when they are scared of blow dryers. I don't know if it would help, but definitely worth a try. Add cottonballs into the ears as well.

It drives my Pug nuts. Running up and down the hallway barking at the patio door and all. He barks at everything though. Sirens and loud motorcycles as well as the electric golf cart in our mobile home park. Kids on bicycles? How does he hear them when he's on the bed? I don't do fireworks or shoot!

CBD for my kitties… fans on, music up and windows closed. I do understand people like firework shows. Last year, the illegal shit was booming over the house. Not cool.

I hate the fireworks too especially since most cities ban them in residential areas. We have the same assholes here that will not comply, but we sedate our dogs and play white noise every time we’re expecting fireworks. Please get some meds from your vet. They really help!!

Poor Baby. Mine gets major anxiety but doesn't shake and cower, she literally gets on the highest point she can reach and barks at every firework. It is a hard few days. No fun for her or for us. Yay Merica

Unfortunately, it doesn't trigger my flight response. It triggers my fight response. And that just makes it worse for my dog. We have to get up into the mountains every year. It's the only way we make it.

heartbreaking my dog suffered to this extreme as well and there's nothing the parent can do. we tried drugs, body huggers, etc... our poor animals suffer so others can...what? celebrate? how is setting off fireworks celebration? wouldn't the money be better spent in a soup kitchen?

I don't love fireworks, especially under a wood shake roof in such dry conditions. But I do love dogs and have had many over my many, many years 🧑🏾‍🦳. Maybe, sometimes jumpy, most not at all, not one has been this way.

If you condition your dog to be scared of fireworks this will happen. You are supposed to desensitize your dog to normal things like this. Don't coddle the behavior show them its not scary. Take them outside to see the fireworks, its hard to be scared when you are aware. Animals arent dumb toddlers

Oblivious to the world around him 🤨 Trumps 40-minute spectacle will launch over 850,000 fireworks from 10 sites, culminating in what the administration touts as the largest fireworks show in history.

This is my dog, she shakes and trembles and hides, I have to tranquillize her. We just bought a tv for the basement and will go down there and spend the night to try and muffle the noise

In my last house I had a neighbor who put out a lawn sign stating that he was a veteran and to be aware of where you put off fireworks. I'll be damned if there weren't so many fireworks for so many days. I think of that person every year. And of course I think of all the dogs.

I had 2 collie sisters growing up, some monstrous individual shot 1 at blank range. The surviving sister was forever traumatized by loud sounds. We always made sure she was tucked away in a quiet spot on 4th & NYs

I absolutely hate them! So over it!!! What it does to all animals domesticate or wild. The extreme noise and lights are hard on the nerves to say the least. Can’t imagine what it does to a veteran with ptsd. Then after that all over with you have to worry about your house catching on fire.Drones

I feel like I must either be really lucky or there's something about their breeds, as for some reason none of mine have ever cared.

On our farm this is always the worst holiday...we hate it. All the dogs get gabapentin & thunder jackets. We make hideaway forts for the cats & all the horses get CBD. This will be a horrible weekend 😢

I had a cat that was extremely aggressive during fireworks. He was normally calm & collected, but he attacked anyone who was around him when it started. I had him his whole life so I knew he was not aggressive under any other circumstances. My father who suffered from WWII ptsd was the same way. 💔
