Think it depends on the cop and how much they see the job as a “brotherhood” Me personally, yea I want higher standards. Having people who’ve committed SA on citizens they are suppose to protect or co-workers for that matter is a major problem in trust. You lose possible good officers as victims.

Not to mention assaulting your supposed “brothers and sisters” in the workforce is also just equally as fucked up. Policing is already a tarnished career choice. We don’t need more fuck ups making us look worse.

And they're still on the job? What the hell are we doing as human beings? What kind of nuttery are we allowing and again? Men who have been hired as their job to protect everyone. Let that sink in think about that 5 seconds. They're being paid the whole time. To not do their job and make it worse

They cover for these people because they are these people. I think most of these fuckers would rape somebody if they thought they could get away with it. Women aren't human beings only mediocre white men are worth anything God I hate it here

None of this surprises me. NY State’s DV office has continually been denied the opportunity to train officers in central & western NY precincts. Leadership rudely dismissed it as unnecessary crap. We have long had a severe issue w/the types of people becoming police. Abolish & try something else!

"suspended for seven days in 2011 for sexually harassing a woman during a traffic stop. called or texted nearly 30 times. had no official reason to pull the woman over but did so because he wanted to talk to her." Here's the problem-- suspended for a week-- should have been fired for this one.

Old head Maga Republicans that work for Chi PD be like that’s clearly her fault for having all that junk in her trunk. Same reason girls can’t wear spaghetti strap shirts in school, it’s her fault her necked shoulder gave him a chub. Idiots

Women can be and are dismissed from jobs for reporting sexual misconduct; men are let off more often than not for *committing* sexual misconduct. Decades back we had a county constable here who looked for teen girls driving after dark; he tried to assault every one he stopped for a minor violation.

Families knew about him, but knew (experience) the county would do nothing to get rid of him. Told their daughters "Don't stop...come home despite the flashing lights & siren. Your dad will scare him off." He was into full-on rape, and a number of girls got pregnant. He denied everything.

County ignored complaints. Blamed the girls. They shouldn't be driving after dark, they should have told him No (they had), they were "that kind of girl." Law enforcement has a bad, bad record with officers committing sexual assault.

Disgusting! My uncle was a CPD patrolman, 20 years after 20 years in the Navy. Jack was a man of honor & did his job correctly. Always available for family, friends & neighbors to assist with whatever needed to be done. He also served with the FOB. Too many without honor these days! I blame 47.

The thin blue line is gang speak for cover each others asses. Especially other men. As a man I find it hard to comprehend cover up for rapists, especially men who are assaulting fellow officers. We need to publicly shame everyone who has ever looked the other way and rebuild the morality of men.

All these men who are so discriminated against are falling apart. I am assuming that most or all of the assaulters are men and I bet I'm right. Even though this is about police officers, it is symptomatic of the general malaise that men find themselves in. Women aren't to blame for the plight of men

If these men will not protect a fellow (female) officer from sexual assault, then how can they protect women in the general public? This is why our society had the issues it does.

Blue protects blue always. Grandpa was a cop. Dad was A cop. 2 brothers are cops. Me the black sheep. I’ve heard it all. What they really think when on the streets. And how they back a fellow cop no matter what. They always told me abuse sometimes happens. But it’s what is out there. I never agreed.

This is the kind of crap that causes mistrust and anger among citizens. Clean your f-ing house. I served in public safety for 19 years, fought for equal access to jobs and promotions and put up with the sexual harassment THEN, it was supposed to be dealt with.

When you hire someone to enforce the law, they should be people who KNOW the law!!! Not people who also break laws. There's no such thing as a good cop. If there was, they would arrest the cops who break the law. Their silence is their complicity!!!

A male supervising cop in Ohio, got a different female recruit pregnant in 3 consecutive academy classes. He was placed as a supervisor in the police academy and no one moved him because he was getting Black female recruits pregnant. He was never punished or convicted.

We try so hard to predict criminality when we're already infinitely better skilled at predicting sexual predation and do practically nothing. Who are we?

Are you inferring that due process be done away with, to get rid of those officers?. The law must be allowed to take its course, whatever the result. We know guilty people are never caught, or convicted in court. That is the price society pays to live in a democracy. Where law ends, tyranny begins.

Chicago might be bad, but it’s no different than every police department in the country, they’re all a huge boys club with made up rules to protect each other, the only difference from police and gangs is that cops are paid for their bullshit

Wait till you find out what Suffolk county Ny Police habe been up to! Especially the one that owned 2 brothels, sex trafficking, and now 2 sexual assault charges.. thats just ONE guy 😡😡😡

That is what you get with poor screening, low educational level, low salaries and only a few months training. To become a policeman in my country, you have to follow a two year study & training course before you are 'exposed' to the public. 'Rookies' is just a marketing tool to improve police image.

Same thing among many clergy and higher ranking officers in our military and other agencies. They get relocated. That's why there is a felon in our WH and many of his cabinet have committed crimes!?

Account. Protection of people though account. Culpability. Legal, monetary liability. Punishment. There's a "there" there where the buck better start stopping. Absent account/punishment, we are all implicated in, culpable for promoting a future of moral hazard. And. Further abuse.

bsky.app/profile/chic... Chicago residents should demand the Police Dept take on moral and fiscal responsibility of paying for the settlements due as a result of POLICE ABUSE perpetrated by corrupt Police Officers. They do the crime…they pay the dime. @schuba.bsky.social @neilsteinberg.bsky.social

By April, Chicago had already burned through $82 million set aside for the year to cover settlements and judgments. On Wednesday, city council authorized settlements that will cost taxpayers $87.9 million more.

We elected a rapist to be President of the United States. We are also keeping a dead woman's body alive just to serve as an incubator for the collection of cells inside her. It is pretty clear where women stand in our culture.

I just wish she would have stuck it out as horrible as that was. She would have gotten him when the time was right. We can’t trust these Depts. to have our backs in these cases. We have to make our own justice.
