These words are forever etched in my mind and have guided my actions and beliefs for a very long time. Do not lose hope. Stay optimistic. We can do better and we shall do better. For a world where each and every one of us can live in equality, justice, and dignity.

"A farmer doesn't like a handout" I beg your fucking finest pardon?

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Tennessee farmer's fuel bill was $20,000 for just 2 weeks: "I wish they could see what it costs us to plant a crop and what we are getting paid... A farmer doesn't like a handout. He would rather have a fair market."

Is this supposed to be a hit piece?

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball β€” scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @grahamrayman.bsky.social & Joe Anuta www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

In fact I will say the Earnest and Pious Charismatic Ethnic Minority political figure (AOC, Mamdani, El-Sayed) has been a pretty good bet for the American left so far, whereas the Disaffected Gruff White Guy Showcasing True Masculinity (Fetterman, Platner) has been a worse bet. Just an observation.

Yeah start insinuating he has morning chai rather than coffee, say that he knocks things for 6 rather than hits a home run, allege that he is generally a clean living good boy who loves his mother and prays every Friday (pejorative).

The rationale is that trans people must disappear from all spaces, and from life. That’s their end game.

Raluca Terry-Enescu@ralucahippie.bsky.social

Wait. I understand the argument for banning trans people from single sex spaces. I strongly disagree with it and think it's absolute bollocks but it is some form of comprehensible. What is even her rationale for "spaces that we can accept are mixed sex still need to be exclusively cis?"

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

Lula won in part by banning online gambling

one handy thing the CCP and Putin have demonstrated is you can just ban these companies from operating in your country. replacements will sprout up extremely fast

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. β€œDigital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring FlΓ‘vio Bolsonaro.

Earnest take: I think it's probably not healthy for the practice of democratic self-government that so many people have developed strong rooting interests in the opinions of Matthew Yglesias

I know absolutely nothing about Lula except that i saw someone share a clip on insta of him in celebration kissing a trans woman politician on the cheek and oh my god is that a radical act for a politician in 2026 so lets fucking go

"I will not burn down Amazon" "I will forcefem my chud supporters" which message will resonate with voters?

You are laughing? Bolsonaro is forcefeming his chud supporters and you’re laughing?

I'm not as convinced as some others that Marine Le Pen will be France's next president. But in the event she does win, she'll still have to govern in co-habitation with a hostile parliament. And I suspect dissolution and new elections would be even worse for her than leaving this one in place.

The USA’s failure to punish Trump for Jan 6th was just an historic betrayal of global democracy. What a shameful, abject and total failure of institutions and civil society.

I think Sarah McBride's presence in the caucus has been extremely important in preventing Labourization because most of these people are kind of dumb and she can explain what's going on in small words.

Brazil going the way of South Korea. Basically around the world women are desperately trying to keep power out of the hands of incredibly stupid fascistic grifters while men keep trying to hand it over. Men are an embarrassing cringe gender.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: β€œI don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. best hope for getting back on track (gradual generational accretion of political progress). 2024 made it look like this had reversed, but I think Gen Z’s flirtation with the right may be seen as a post-Covid fluke

Sure, AFTER judicial review did its job (when the court still functioned) Democrats were happy to take credit for it, but the fact remains that they didn't do jack. They capitalized on gains the Judiciary delivered after decades of hard fucking work from boots on the ground activists.

This is the third person today to suggest that my equality as a human and an American citizen was a gift bestowed upon me by Democrats as opposed to an unaliable condition inherent to all people.

elnoraoldschool.bsky.social@elnoraoldschool.bsky.social

Democrats were the reason the rights existed in the first place. Pursing your lips to fix that you would be fighting Democrats is absolutely ridiculous 😑
