Wild, I left X because of antisemitism too. Mind you, that was a couple of years ago, I guess it just takes some people longer

I have a pre-beta account that is dormant. I log into it once every 60 days or so to keep it from being reclaimes but I'll be dammed if I let Elmo take that bit of internet history from me. I firmly believe he'll be gone one day at it'll be restored.

I left when Elon started re-instating people who were rightfully banned. I told Elon he could go to hell and he changed his icon to a devil. I deleted my account. It was a few months after Jack left and Elon took over.

I started my account in 2007, but stopped posting there in Nov. 2022. Didn't actually delete the account until recently, but I was way too tired of feeling like I needed a shower and a therapy session every time I scrolled through there.

Getting paid to do it likely increases the tolerance and changes the equilibrium point from "can I hold my nose and read this?" to "how many checks can I cash before the stench of bigotry and incompetence sticks to me like cheap perfume?"

Due to the industry I work in, there are quite a few connections that haven't made the transition to Bluesky. I stopped posting a while ago, had ads blocked, so Twitter likely lost money on my being there. Better late than never, I suppose? bsky.app/profile/vine...

I finally did it! Deactivated my Twitter account. Grok turning Nazi was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. It takes deliberate and concerted effort to make Grok do what it did.

She cashed checks through the AfD endorsement, sieg heils, and very open Nazi community that grew and thrived on X during her tenure. Her problem seems less antisemitism than “Trump’s election bumped our ad numbers back up, and if this is the peak I should take the credit and hop to the next gig.”

This was so actually antisemitic that even the ADL felt obligated to say something. They couldn't find a way to "Who can really tell?" their way through this the way they tried with Musk's Nazi salute.

Honestly? This was part of why I decided to test Elon that day soon after he took over. You know that one where he tweeted that no one would be banned for saying legal but mean things to anyone. So I told him to fuck himself. My IP and phone number were banned within 8 minutes.

The part where this came into play? I knew that if I left leaving Twitter up to myself, I would have a chance of just trickling out there and still being on it after all the horrors it has wrought since then. So I dated him to take that choice from me and I never once regretted it.

Same here. I found his antisemitism a year & half before others noticed it. I blocked him on X platform after he took over, because of racist & antisemitic posts that he shared, as well as letting racists/antisemites back on the platform. Then I left X. How decent people stay there?

I still regularly use FB, but everyone I follow is an IRL friend or local news and all my posts are FLocked. 95% of my experience is posting and reading about family/personal-life stuff. The other 5% is scrolling random reels (I get served a mix of food and comedy, which is fine.)

I'm still on FB but I use Social Fixer so I only see my friends' posts not random sponsored posts/pages. Funnily enough none of my friends are sexist or transphobic or tolerate them on their pages. I rarely look at it from my mobile, but I agree there are some absolute shitheads on there.

I left because I couldn't support Elon, and I found I could follow the people I was interested in on Bluesky. I still support SpaceX, though, but I think it could get along without the Musk monster now.
