This was the point all along. To insist that everyone fits neatly into a pink or blue box, so that it's easier to justify treating the whole pink box as less deserving of rights and opportunities and dignities than the blue.

My god. The Heritage Foundation, which mercilessly attacked transgender kids in order to protect the "integrity of women's sports," is now attacking the legal basis for women's sports. The transgender student decision is barely 2 weeks old.

I think the worst thing about having a human body (besides death and illness and pain etc) Is the CONSTANT MAINTENANCE It never can just chill. You have to constantly feed it and water it and wash it and give it vitamins and exercise and sleep IT NEVER JUST MAINTAINS ITSELF

The fascist project potentially being brought to a stuttering halt because its biggest enablers are ancient, dust-filled windbags who die in office is possibly the funniest thing that could happen to this decrepit republic

Disability is not a vacation. It’s a 24/7 job You’re forced into legislated poverty You have to endure ableism, abandonment and constant gaslighting You live with pain & suffering that would send most folks to the hospital. You fight for medical care, social supports & dignity. It’s not easy.

This is amazing; 40 women’s organizations standing in support of trans people’s human rights against this government’s targeting of trans people against the EHRC transphobic code. Trans people and cis women’s rights are not in opposition.

perhaps we should view nazi tattoos as disqualifying from here on out. i kind of assumed we'd already view them as disqualifying but was unpleasantly surprised so maybe from here we could all agree not to downplay nazi tattoos since they seem pretty indicative of broad disregard for human dignity

Court can't go on like this. The Constitution as plainly as possible says people who were born here have an unequivocal right to citizenship. Four people whose ONLY job is to read the Constitution for the rest of their lives just tried to overturn it because they're tired of brown people. Pack it.

Clarence Thomas is a piece of shit and so are every one of his colleagues who voted for this trans girls are girls, trans women are women, and they should be allowed to play sports with their friends no matter what the Supreme Court says

Jay Willis@jaywillis.net

Clarence Thomas's concurring opinion in the trans sports ban case in West Virginia contains some of the ugliest transphobic stuff I have ever seen in a legal opinion. Straight-up gleeful. Vile man. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p...

I realize this is unfortunately not the norm for too many cishet white dudes but social media absolutely let me learn about so many progressive things I’d never have gotten exposed to otherwise, especially the lived experiences of people different from myself

Having social media access made growing up gay 1 million times easier (I don’t think I would even know I was gay as a teen if it weren’t for social media), but it also made growing up progressive and informed possible. Social media was where I learned about abortion rights, for starters
