Didn't know that she was pro-Brexit but she was a good transport minister which at this point was really all I cared about her for, and I'm not convinced any replacement will be as good - indeed I imagine they'll likely roll back on some of her plans.

Her conviction was "spent" meaning it was so trivial and long ago. No one should be condemned for the rest of their life just because of one small crime. People should be able to rehabilitate themselves and live useful lives, which is what she was doing.

Other employees are quoted as saying the phone wasn’t misplaced and that she wanted a newer phone. Today’s papers seem to be implying this is why resigned, not the conviction. Certainly can’t see why the latter is a resignation matter.

Genuinely seems a very trivial matter to resign over. Her 'fraud' seems more like the understandable actions of a young woman who's gone through a frightening and traumatic experience. Certainly compared to the massive PPE and other fraud of the Tory years.

I’m gonna say, based on hunch and what we known of Starmer’s team that some oiky advisors think this is a clever move to push out a dynamic woman with an independent voice but all they have done is lower the bar for resignation.

Nah...Starmer can't allow an inch,with the toxic RW media. Louise Haigh knows this. If she hadn't resigned, RW media woukd have hade her as a drugs runner by Sunday....clapped on by the hard of thinkers..

If you look into this, I can’t see any wrong doing. This is part of the right wing plan to undermine democracy. Every day we will see negative news trying to present the Government as in chaos and corrupt, whilst financing Farage. Democracy is under attack.

Skeletons have a habit of biting provided those who abuse provided they have a moral compass and admit their sins. As opposed to tories who abuse & game every system they are involved in, ignore rules, laws, commit crimes & abuse anyone they can & then laugh. Pincher anyone?

With the Andy mayors having made a plan for HS2a lite, whoever has replaced that very capable minister must complete the review of HS2 and confirm the Tory bin fire is over. This stinks of attempts to paint Badenoch in a vaguely competent light.
