ECHR and the HR relates to Human Rights, so get this, this moronic woman wants to take away YOUR Human Rights. She wants to get rid of illegals without being challenged by Europe, but it's Human Rights and that affects all of us and believe me the Tories would rip your life apart without any thought

Because the Tories want to eliminate all human rights and plunge the country into an Oligarch ruled feudal system in a reflection of 16th century England.

Also it’s the complete ignoring of the fact that in 2016 the young people whom this is continuing to massively affect were children, are they never going to be able to have their say now they can vote??

The ECHR disadvantages the wealthy Tory-supporting business owners by giving ordinary people rights. That why both the Original Tories and the New Tories (Reform UK) want to leave it.

Leaving the ECHR was never mentioned before Brexit because we had agreements on illegal migration and freedom of movement. Going back to the EU would solve that problem then the ECHR debate goes away

Also, why is there no challenge to them on rights they want to remove? - Right to privacy - Freedom of thought - Freedom to marry - Right to fair trial - Right to liberty - Prohibition of forced labour - Right to life There are many more too! They are actively saying they will remove these!

It’s not happening. Both parties sink themselves by association, as well as admitting they can’t win on their own. And leaving the ECHR is not a majority position. At all.

Why are the people who accuse those talking about reversing Brexit of "living in the past" never asked about their own plans to rip up an international agreement that was first signed by the UK some 75 years ago?

It's incredible that someone can possibly be so staggeringly deluded. To claim that she would have fixed basically every problem in the country and also achieved sci-fi levels of accomplishment, when in reality the *very first thing* she tried to do crashed the fucking economy.

What the nation narrowly voted for ten years ago is not a mandate either. Of the 46.5 million who had a vote (not all voted) 17.4 million voted 'Leave'. Many were excluded who would have voted 'Remain', e.g 16-18 year olds, Expats overseas for over 15 years & EU citizens permanently resident in UK.

Just heard Farage on the news shrieking about how Burnham has no mandate to seek closer ties to EU. a) He can Fuck off b) show us any tangible benefit Brexit has given us c) Fuck off a bit further 🤨🤣

Unbelievable bias on the BBC today - firstly Tice given a lengthy spot to spout borderline racist anti-immigrant crap unchallenged on the 'Toady' programme earlier. Lunchtime: Farage party political propaganda speech the BBC decided to air in full. Disgraceful for a so-called neutral broadcaster.

What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Seems the economy doesn't actually need saving, despite Refuk's assertion. Going through their list - stuff to benefit their fossil fuel donors and 'Honest' Bob's property developer chums. And scrapping worker rights, renter's rights, etc. The millionaire's party, voted for by gullible racists.
