Now that's Winter, I'm thinking about NEWSLETTER. But I haven't written anything for one yet... Right now, my energy is going towards preparing Chapter 5 for localization. The translation process begins next week. We have extracted all the English text and we are now annotating it.

I finished annotating (most of) the translation with 8-4's assistance. I skipped a couple unfinished parts, but it's enough for the translator to properly start work on Monday! Yay!

DOES the Knight's sword give us a Shadow Crystal? I always assumed they just dropped it from somewhere else at the same time it was chipped. How would the Crystal be staying on the Black Knife? Genuinely asking cause I'm curious.

it gives both the black shard and the crystal at the same time with the same pick up sound effect. theres no evidence that it just appears out of nowhere. added evidence that the shadow crystals are connected to the knight are when gerson says he got one right after the knight makes the DW.

I’ve been pondering this over all day. It might be a joke it’s like so obvious in hindsight. Dark worlds are created with determination, you concentrate your will and that determines the conditions of the world. Shadow crystals are tied to Freedom, especially choice in the past two chapters

The knight has you choose repeatedly to fight an impossible battle until you force an alternate outcome, Gerson’s arc is about Susie determining her own story and fate. Arguably Spamton is about pursuing a potential beyond his ability and Jevil finds freedom through his perception of the world

Probably yeah, Queen establishes that every lighter posses the power of determination, and that's why she needed one to make a fountain. Therefore darkeners can't have determination, and shadow crystal being a fragment of determination that a darkner can use would fit very nicely
