Why does everyone always forget about Startpage? Also, LibreWolf for browsers instead of Firefox, plus GrapheneOS for mobile, Ironfox for Android browser, Betterbird and Thunderbird Mobile for email clients.

Brave is the last browser alternative I would use TBH Between the bloat they include with AI, VPN, and bitcoin wallet stuff Their co-founder is sus as hell bsky.app/profile/docb...

Also, before you use Brave Browser, do note that the CEO of Brave left the Mozilla org after it came out he donated money in 2008 in support of Californian anti-gay marriage law Proposition 8 So if you are using Brave as a way to get away from tech bigots, you moved in the wrong direction lol

I would like to know an alternative of Medium for blogs, that respect Privacy. I was looking in the #fediverse ecosystem. By the way, a good alternative of Google Analytic is Overtracking, it is European and follow GDPR compliant, we use in @inferenco.com

You might add LibreWolf browser, Proton VPN, plus make note that if anyone has access to your phone your Signal traffic can be duplicated on a PC. Pixel users can switch to Graphene OS, rather than Android as well. It's not that hard. Motorola will be offering Graphene as a factory install soon.

I just seem to have a trust issue with cloud flare. Nothing really to blame it on. Just my "feelers" wiggle. Since those "feelers" have seldom been in error I just go on and do something else. But I'll look at that today.

It's like any other browser. Except it comes defaulted to security settings that do a good job. I checked to see if it randomized my "signature" and it did. Of course there are those that would argue that the best place to hide is in plain site. To a point that is true. Look like everyone else.

Librewolf is actually designed to hide in plain sight. That's the only real way to hide from fingerprinting. That's why by default you're stuck in light mode and it isn't full screen. I dont think it spoofs your OS so with Linux you might still leak enough info to be fingerprinted

The thing with Signal is crappy insofar as they provide a desktop App - for Windows only. Which has always boggled my mind since the user likely to use E2E apps outside of Google/Apple gardens is more likely to *not* use Windows.

When buttons still looked like buttons and 4 GB of RAM was enough for comfortable work 😔 I still remember those times and having Clippy always on 😀 tbh. I did take this as a pfp because of that one Louis Rossman video.
