This is Kevin. He's a reactive dog getting some training to be more comfortable. His trainer brought him to a pet store for some socialization where they learned he is no longer reactive when given a giant stuffed dinosaur. 14/10 (TT: katieandtatesfostermates)

In my house that is known as an "emotional support stuffy" and they are used to manage big feelings. They are worth their weight in gold. Good boy Kevin!

Mine doesn't seem inclined to kill them as much as carry them in his mouth when he is super excited or nervous or unsure. It works for me!

In my house they are known as "my dead hopes and dreams of my dog being cute with a cute toy" 😭 she is half JRT half Dachshund and only ever liked toys when she was less than 2 years old I can ask her to go get them for me after throwing them but she will do the same with trash or my keys all day😂

For no reason just wanted to mention that you’re a fucking amazing person and this account is damn near perfect. I hope for only the best for you and I love you brother!

I keep a stuffed animal in my backpack. If the trail is too narrow for comfort and we have to pass somebody I give it to my pup so that she doesn't harass the other humans. Works like a charm

My rescue Tug picked this for his "baby''. He was a tough little dude and looked embarrassed by his affection for it. He went to the big farm in the sky about 5 years ago but this still sits on my desk

If Kevin needs even more socializing….I volunteer for as long and neccesary! I’m really good with scrtiches and belly rubs and cuddles, also toy time…

There are always one or two dogs at my shelter who need a toy to carry so they can direct their focus on something else besides other dogs or redirecting to the leash. It essentially “gives them a job”. Plus, many of them are proud to show off the toy to passersby.
