It’s corrupt Ken Paxton and his sugar daddy oligarch Elon Musk v. Talarico and tens of thousands of people giving $10-100. Choose your brand of democracy.

With this monopolized media empire comes not just size but unprecedented power. The power to throw workers under the bus. The power to price-gouge because consumers have few alternatives. The power to decide which stories get told, but more importantly, which stories DON'T get told.

CEO pay is up 1,316% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 28%. CEOs are now paid 325 TIMES as much as the typical worker in their industry, according to @epi.org Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

"Back when I was in college, I was a cool, virile twenty-two-year-old with washboard abs and a large group of friends. Students today would struggle to say the same, since I’m sixty-two, my kids hate me, and my doctor says I’m prediabetic." www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/the...

The feminist movement was never a threat to men. Secure men have always understood that. They stood beside women, fought for equality, and some proudly called themselves feminists too. If women having equal power feels like oppression to you, feminism isn’t the problem.

Soylent Green (1973). What feels dated about it, is that I don't buy the government being willing to spend money on a suicide pavilion. I really love Edward G. Robison's performance in this, too. It's a reminder of what films lose when the main characters are all young and conventionally attractive.

Trump doesn’t want to say where his mystery meat is coming from. Oh also in a separate story I’m sure is in no way connected, he’s been slaughtering your wild horses.

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

The so-called president of the United States is a massive money launderer and cut off by the bank that discovered it. Yet the story barely registers with the legacy media. What a disgrace.

Everyday Americans need protection from those with power who seek to exploit them for every last penny in their pocket. Some call this view "socialism." I call it fair.
