Anyway the real heroes of Minnesota are the countless volunteers doing boring shifts where nothing happens. The mom of three delivering food to 40 families in her kids’ school. The dad standing at the door of an elementary with a whistle for hours. The drivers endlessly looping, seeing nothing.

Good to see that many Dem elected officials now want to be seen getting involved in the cases of immigrants who have been wrongly detained by ICE. Let's spare a word for @vanhollen.senate.gov, who did this for Kilmar Abrego Garcia back when wise pundits said this was politically dangerous.

There's little downside for Virginia Dems going for 10-1 over 9-2. On my 10-1 map below, Kamala Harris & Jay Jones won 9 seats by ≥10 points, & McAullife won all 9 in 2021. The swing seat was Harris+3. On my 9-2 map, 1 of those blue seats becomes safe red, but the swing seat becomes just Harris+4

Right. The point is not “it matters extra because it’s a citizen,” the point is “we either hang together or we will all hang separately.”

A Black man named Keith Porter was shot and killed by an ICE officer on New Year’s Eve. Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body. This is not new but it is expanding.

The protests will grow. All it takes is a spark. 6 years ago it was the murder of George Floyd, caught on camera, just a mile from where this happened. Now it's ICE murdering Renee Good. Both times, MAGA and Trump sided with the murderer. Enough. We have the numbers.

Abolishing ICE is the bare minimum. We need to dismantle DHS. We need restitution. And we need trials.

Your reminder that what happened to Renee Nicole Good is something that happens regularly in America. This is not new, but it is an expanded version of militarized people targeting Black people in particular. From ICE detention to murder with impunity, we've been doing it. Now it's broadened.

NOW: Crowd continues to grow in Minneapolis at a vigil where a federal agent shot and killed Renee Good this morning. “SAY HER NAME!” “RENEE GOOD!”

This is Renee Good. She was a mother of a six-year-old child. She was an American citizen. She described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado.” And she was gunned down in cold blood and broad daylight by Trump’s ICE agents.

The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.
