For the record, this isn't one of Trump's "radical left-wing lunatics." Whitley is the former President and CEO of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. He spent his career as a pro-business leader and once ran for governor of Illinois as a Republican.

Alaskans don't need to be told how important rural hospitals are. In a state this vast and remote, they are critical lifelines for Bush communities. Dan Sullivan voted to gut the funding these facilities need to provide care, putting rural hospitals statewide at risk of closure.

This is why I hate "just a tool" so so so much. You can make a calculator without access to every calculation. You can make photoshop without access to all photos. Someone show me a genai tool that didn't require all of our labour in its production. It's plagiarism software.

Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

🚨 Obama rejects the argument that the market and lawsuits alone can keep AI companies in check: “That’s not how we treat airlines, or drug companies, or food companies.” He says there’s “no replacement” for effective government regulation.

The amount of Amazon workers relying on SNAP and Medicaid has nearly tripled since 2020. — while Amazon’s annual profits soared by over 550%. It’s the same story everywhere: corporate profits are at record highs, while workers’ share of the economy is at a record low. We must unrig the system.

How do you defeat a president who’s trying to sabotage the midterms? 1. Use drop boxes. 2. Vote EARLY in person. 3. If mailing in your ballot, put it in the mail AT LEAST two weeks before Election Day. 4. Vote in person on Election Day. 5. Share these instructions with everyone you know.

Fetterman is not only a terrible, lazy senator who was supported by his parents until his mid-40s, he’s just a garbage human being. No surprise he ended up as a regular Fox contributor where he feels most at home.

These whistleblower allegations are extraordinary. If Trump Administration officials knowingly built a system designed to prevent Americans from receiving their ballots, that is not election security. It is a betrayal of our Constitution and the American people.

nytimes.comWhistle-Blower Says USPS Is Secretly Proceeding on Trump’s Mail Voting Plan Before MidtermsA report detailed “grave concerns” that a new system being rushed into use by the U.S. Postal Service could imperil millions of mail ballots ahead of the midterm elections.

Extraordinary, powerful and heart-wrenching. Active duty Marine Colonel Zach Schmidt, speaking in his personal capacity, about Khalil, an Afghan national whose family helped U.S. forces in Afghanistan. Khalil was deported by the U.S. on Friday to a conflict zone.

Moulton: He doesn’t have any sons or daughters who served in the military after 9/11. If just one of them had signed up, maybe he would know that we served on the ground alongside Canadian troops, French troops, troops from the UK, the Danes, the Poles—And you know, they lost a lot of lives there

A reporter asks Trudeau about Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly’s characterization of the current U.S. situation which she called a "psychodrama." "How would you characterize it?" Trudeau, speaking for a weary nation, “Thursday."

Extending the Trump tax cuts for the next 10 years would add roughly $4 trillion to the deficit. Remember this the next time Republicans try paying for them with cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.  The "party of fiscal responsibility" is full of it.

Trump says his 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada — and an additional 10% tariff on China — will take effect on March 4.  These new tariffs would cost the typical U.S. household an extra $1,200/year.  Other countries won't pay for tariffs — you will.

youtube.comThe Truth About Trump’s TariffsInflation rose in January. Working people are struggling to make ends meet. Trump’s newly planned tariffs will make the problem worse. Let me explain.

As Elon Musk guts entire government agencies and fires thousands of federal workers that deliver vital services to the country, remember that his corporations have received at least $38 billion in government contracts over the past 20 years. Yet will any of this be touched by DOGE? Of course not.

Three things that make the U.S. the envy of the world: 1) Professionalized military with strong norm of civilian control 2) Higher education and cutting-edge scientific research 3) Ability to welcome immigrants and attract the “best and the brightest” All three are under threat.

You are up to date.
