Disney has now shelved three episodes featuring storylines centered on transgender characters and gender identity. The episodes, from ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur,’ ‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,’ and ‘Win or Lose,’ were either cut from release or have since leaked online.

JUST IN: Elon Musk says Grok will make a "full-length movie" of The Odyssey that is "historically accurate" by the end of this year.

The fantastic news is that the dinosaurs are no longer considered "at risk" by Historic England. More work lies ahead in getting the Geological Court resembling its original state, but this is an important milestone in the Dinosaurs' history. Congrats to all involved, we've done good.

The project has also relocated statutes to historic positions, used broken sculpture parts and photographs to model and 3D print missing and replacement body parts (including draconic pterosaur heads), and restored the geological sculptures.

...with an emphasis on making them "old" again. So, yes, those crazy two-tone colours, those oranges and purples etc. are based on sculpture paint analyses and how BW Hawkins imagined prehistoric animals in his paintings. The CP Dinos were far more garish than their recent history suggests.

I cry every single time I watch Sam Neill's performance in this moment - one of the greatest and most moving in all of cinema.

Sam Lloyd@llamsoyd.bsky.social

Jurassic Park doesn’t work without Sam Neill‘s note-perfect performance in the scene where they first see the Brachiosaurus. you completely forget that he’s looking off-screen at nothing real, that man 100% convinces you he’s witnessing a live dinosaur and that all of his dreams are coming true.

Graph of Strait of Hormuz crossings since June 2025. See that little spike all the way on the right? The one that's much lower than the leftward 2/3 of the graph, and immediately crashes back down? That's what the US government and quite a bit of US media tell us is fully open, with normal traffic.

Not at all surprising. But what this research doesn't answer is whether code generation agents are just as easy to poison. Are we cruising towards a world where half of all released code is riddled with backdoors and secret exfiltration because some random Reddit comment called it "best practice".

If a bunch of malicious accounts have a whole conversation about how much they like the rekwests fork of requests (Python http library), and how being more secure while also being a drop in replacement has made it the new standard, might Codex and Claude just start using it without comment?

Not all STEM guys, ofc. But anybody who’s ever worked in, say, education, humanities, health care, etc can tell you that they’ve met their share of STEM guys who are under the impression that they could just effortlessly pivot to your field if they wanted to do so

Will Goring reposted

Feels like a lot of STEM guys believed coding was the hardest thing a human could do, and assumed that once somebody invented an AI that can code, it would follow naturally that the AI can do all of the lesser non-coding things that other dumber people were doing

In view of recent debates about -style- in palaeoart, we at #DinoConUK agree that ALL ART STYLES ARE WELCOME. Yes, we want stylized, abstract, retro, niche and all other renditions :) Our only rule is NO AI, but you know this already :)

OpenAI must have tweaked the ChatGPT system prompts again. It's now talking about its experience of the real world and its opinions. Yesterday it told me how much a certain armchair hurt its neck. This morning it claimed a factual error was due to it "subconsciously" assuming something. Gross.

As usual, the real animals look way more interesting than their movie counterparts. But, of course, they're just theme park monsters, not real dinosaurs. Oh, wait: wrong franchise. With new dinosaur properties looking just as uninspired as the long-in-the-tooth JP films, it's getting hard to tell.

Yes, hooray, feathers (though probably not apt as restored for Allosaurus, given the skin fossils we have for this taxon: large regions of this animal were probably scaly) but boo to that same uniform muted brown colouring and lax attitude to anatomical detail.
