people working in a field doesn't just magically confer an ability to divine information. an AI worker saying they're worried still needs evidence beyond, "if this happens and this happens, then this bad thing will happen, and I just think it's pretty likely that it will"

$2 for every block I've ever gotten to @oasiscenter.bsky.social to help at risk youth so they mean more. Really don't have to twist my arm to donate to help the community out, but thought it would be a good time to show that and see if anyone else will?

As most of the time when I feel in trouble/hurt, I like to donate to those who I know need it more than me. Can't recommend enough for others to do the same oasiscenter.org

I think of LLMs like it's a table saw. Quite useful if you know how to use it and careful enough. Installing it everywhere though is maybe not the best idea.

I keep seeing AI described as a massive shift in the nature of humanity and our understanding of consciousness But when I look at how good these new models are at hacking, I think oh we've basically just built the computer equivalent of the machine gun.

Our full conversation with Andrew Kelley, creator of Zig, is out now. No AI policy, leaving GitHub, a $670K nonprofit, and why there's no 1.0 (yet). Watch here: jb.gg/zig-interview

Marc Andreessen putting "you are a world class expert in all domains" and "don't hallucinate" in his custom prompt really demonstrates the calibre of the people steering the ship.

it's in ubuntu repo. It's literally in Flatpak. You can probably find it in Snap. Dude it's AppImage. It's .deb. You can install it with apt. You can run "apt install" and install it. Just use apt. apt has it for you. apt has it for you

ok now I want to yell at bsky devs too. Carousel? Really?

v1.121 is live! We've increased the quality of photos in posts by doubling the max file size to 2MB and the resolution limit to 4000x4000. Plus, posts with multiple photos now appear in a carousel so you can show off your photography in all its glory.

I think this graph lacks the context. For instance, Github Actions were introduced in 2019. Also it's not clear how good/detailed tracking was before that. There were certainly incidents before 2019, but they're nowhere on this graph.
