Everyone coming on my feed and explaining to me that all is lost, I note what I have noted before, that there are no Negro Spirituals entitled, “Welp, I Guess It All Sucks and I Am Giving Up.”

The signal being sent here is that if you say enough lefty slogans, these folks will defend you to the death even if you've got bodies buried three deep in your basement

I have a piece in the NYT today arguing that the law should permit victims of ICE abuse to sue not just individual officers, but supervisors and policymakers like Stephen Miller and Gregory Bovino. A Democratic president and Congress could do this in 2029. And they could make it retroactive.

It got muddled b/c it was mostly seen as incidental to getting at Trump himself, but Graham didn't just vaguely lean on Raffensperger. He told him to falsify the tally by not counting ballots. Straight-up criminal election fraud no different from telling a poll worker to go dump votes in the trash.

New: Back in 2018, I published a summary of studies and surveys about the prevalence of racism in the criminal justice system for the Wash. Post. The idea was for it to be a regularly updated resource. The Post hasn't updated it since I left. So I've updated and reproduced it at The Watch.

People keep trying to make this Dem schism about policy, because they think they can win it with catchy slogans. But it’s actually not about policy. It’s about whether or not you look at the GOP under MAGA with disgust or with envy.

When the Reddit post blaming women for getting drunk to shift the blame away from rapists, it was 100% baked in that there would be a credible rape allegation against him. If you don’t have the pattern recognition skills to have seen that, you should not be getting paid for your political acumen.

There’s not a single person that has been paying attention that is shocked or surprised by the allegations being reported in this story. Yes at this point it’s allegations but even if false this storm can probably not be weathered because of all the other stuff we know about that’s true. Is that

I should read more art essays in the morning. As upsetting as this essay was, it feels like a genuinely useful framing. I'd make a joke about the subject matter, but now I'd feel irresponsible for doing that. news.artnet.com/art-world/ma...

This essay was very good.

Much of MAGA is losing it over the Supreme Court’s Birthright Citizenship decision. MAGA ideologues like this guy below hate modern America. They hate multiculturalism. This guy thinks America is for his white children only.

One of the reasons why the ongoing meltdown about Zohran asking people to set their A/C to 78 bothers me is that it seems to be a symptom of post-COVID unwillingness for individuals to do anything for the common good, and if we don’t have that we’re in a very bad place as a society.

Time and time again I feel someone is an antisemite and people say no, they're just critical of Israel, and I squint and say no, really, something is off, and they say I support genocide or something. Over and over.

Jimmy Dore: "What do you attribute the government's subservience to the Zionist program?" Roger Waters says it's because of the Rothschilds and usury, and says that a reason why they oppose Iran is because usury is illegal in Iran.

The key difference is that they wanted Biden to lose and they want Trump to win and rule over us.

Gestapo is a contraction of Geheime Staatspolizei = Secret State Police

In America, we have the regular police. Then we have the secret police, who wear masks, drive unmarked cars, stalking their unawares targets, all people of color, through their neighborhoods. The targets are periodically seized at random, and disappeared to some faraway facility, where many die.

Karl Marx in his essay “On the Jewish Question” using classic antisemitic stereotypes and concluding: : "The social emancipation of the Jew is the emancipation of society from Judaism" Not to mention the slurs in his private writings…

One last thing: I often see people saying things like ‘never talk to the police without a lawyer’ and a lot of people don’t have lawyers and are like, what should I do? The answer is that you should not talk to the police at all.
