BABE WAKE UP SYRACUSE OTTO HELMETS JUST DROPPED WEARING ON SATURDAY

pro tip: if your interviewer says "you can say whatever you want" right after you've agreed to something, that is literally them handing you rope to hang yourself

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

when people ask "why do you think the economy is bad when the stock market is up" this is the kind of shit i want them to read there is next to zero safety net if you lose the job you have, which is at risk every quarter if you're ownership didn't see their revenue go up by the right amount

The New York Groove@nygroove.nyc

people obviously want enough money to pay bills and have a little disposable income for fun, but I don't think people realize how few jobs exist that offer that with any level of stability to avoid this shitty job market that gets worse by the day.

This woman should immediately replace Mr. Subway Takes as the host of Subway Takes. Came into the game and started throwing darts, you can’t go back to the starter now

the babahuck@tylerhuckabee.bsky.social

holy smokes, conan strikes up a chat with a random lady on the subway and she immediately starts riffing on his level, no problem.

per The Fourth Quarter on X: Syracuse is sixth nationally in HAVOC rate. Fits what I think makes sense as a change in strategy for the Orange: cause chaos up front, take advantage in back. However, they haven't followed through on the latter.

🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨🚨🚨 Jalen Hurts is OUT for the season. This statement details why there was such a dramatic change in the diagnosis for Jalen Hurts. When doctors found multiple blood clots in his lungs, it went from being able to manage it to requiring immediate treatment.

If anyone in Syracuse wants two tickets to tonight’s game vs Louisville, hmu. Happy to give them to a Cuse fan who will show out

i spent my entire childhood thinking this was some weird artistic rendering of the Liberty Bell

Thinking about how these games and moments would simply not matter much at all if they happened during a 24-team playoff structure.

as someone who just built a topicbot for work, it is very easy to set up guardrails (*cough meta, cough grok*) but it is much harder to make it outright lie consistently if there's not an overwhelming amount of unique content you feed it as these things are out of the box tuned by the entire web

for context, my bot was specifically focused on Georgia High School Football, an area with not a lot of "general" knowledge out on the web, so it was easier to train on a specific content area with content created by experts in this field. which was cool! guardrails were tricky but workable.

genuinely frustrating how journalism literally became dictation instead of reporting think this is why you see such loyalty with actual "voices" who offer any sort of data processing, even if that processing is wrong

We’ve definitely ml ed into the part of the season where I think I still have a handle on things but Vegas has a better handle.

The mark of a good team: play like shit for an extended portion of the game, still have the numbers come out way in your favor by the end with your recovery.

Thought I was going crazy when I was trying to find one yesterday Is it a good beer? Not really. Is it my favorite beer? No. Do I enjoy drinking one at a Pittsburgh sporting event? I do. Do I enjoy billionaires that are not from here coming in and taking out things that are from here? I do not

remember when one of his players absolutely destroyed someone's leg in a dirty slide that derailed the pirates' seaso in a way that benefitted the cubs directly and then joe maddon joked that the injured player was out with "plantar fasciitis?" i do. i remember it.

Productive Outs@productiveouts.bsky.social

Wonderful that certain pockets of baseball pull crusty-ass Joe Maddon out his wine cave to rant and rave about how shitty today’s game is every other month or so. Good stuff. Remind me why he doesn’t have a job again?

I could not suspend my disbelief at this plot line. There's a part-alien high school QB with the ability to perhaps destroy the entire world, despite having an apparently human life form and being raised by a loving mother. A kid like that is going to Ohio State or more likely Liberty

So … Nebraska coach Matt Rhule got a commitment from the greatest 5-star athlete of all time in the season finale of #Lanterns.

This is probably the funniest leopards eating faces yet tbh. You can have the man's kids. You can build his businesses. You can cover his crimes. And he'll still throw you overboard with no explanation.

Millions of reasons why I hate this (and most of real life right now), but everyone acting like they have no free will might make me the angriest. "We can't simply make MORE money, we have no choice but to make the MOST money even if we're screwing our future selves. It's out of our hands!"

The Protect College Sports Act is now headed to the Senate, where it will most likely die, because Democrats added a $5m cap on coaches salaries. Bill was never about saving college sports, it was about controlling labor and keeping the riches at the admin level.

Syracuse pissing away 6 points on special teams is a new low, only because that’s usually the one thing we’re good at doing
