#coop Pigs in Blankets crisps have a different flavour to last year. Not as nice 😕

🤨 From Viz 😂

@gossjam.bsky.social another eclectic, interesting Target Book Club. Thanks and glad I read The Web Planet so I could disagree a bit (the Hartnell dialogue is awesome 🙂). Next time.

I always read a Target book before Target Book Club. I was going to ask for a suggestion, but @gossjam.bsky.social got in already 😀

BREAKING: Ed Sheeran to represent Piddington at Eurovision

Struggling to work out why Jenrick would single out these three Commonwealth countries rather than, say, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, whose citizens have exactly the same rights. It’s a head-scratcher.

“Reform has the most extreme policy on energy and climate the UK has seen since modern science on the subject began. The party opposes solar; it opposes wind; it opposes batteries… Once again: Reform is largely funded by fossil fuels” Private Eye on the anti-thought, pro-corruption threat of Reform

It’s a stupidly high bar but I believe this to be Craig Brown’s finest work

Capybaras patiently waiting for traffic before making their grand road crossing in Brazil is a sight you don't want to miss. Nature's charm at its best!

It’s worse than you think - they’re also pushing for the right to arm bears.

I usually bring natural disasters when I visit the Philippines, but I haven't left my back garden! Honest!

Notice how a book can make you gay, a vaccine can make you autistic, a mask can make you sicker, and a poster of the Ten Commandments can make you moral, but guns don’t kill people.

Still from Doctor Who and the Green Death (starring Jon Pertwee, 1973)

Wonder where Trump and Sons Ltd have their money invested? www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Oh, yeah, that was the Obama Iran deal.

Takes one to know one.

We can all agree that I'd look fantastic on a £5 note

Starmer's attempt to play both sides has failed. He tried to look tough on Trump, but failed to condemn the illegal attack. Then he let US bombers pit stop here. He's dragged us into the war, and still managed to damage our reputation with the USA in the process.

This is Peter Davison telling you Doctor Who - Warriors of the Deep special edition is a massive improvement. He is right but I am now left wondering if it is too similar to Resurrection of the Daleks. It's a Remembrance of the Daleks / Silver Nemesis discussion again! #doctorwho

Girlfriend and I are planning a traditional Valentines Day this year. We're going to line up all our enemies against a wall and shoot them.

£240m. With no tender. Palantir. I wrote to Wes Streeting last week demanding answers. Every day without any transparency deepens the scandal. Palantir out.

Perhaps as a compromise, Canada could share naming rights of the bridge. Name it after Trump and the famous Canadian historical figure Isa D'Mentedpaedo.

I once came second in a competition with over 100 entrants and missed out on a cash prize. I am now going to find the guy who won and mug him.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition, The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance Iconic imo

The only thing more boring than #thetraitors in The Traitors Uncloaked. Sooty Smith I was wrong. A programme with people talking about a programme about people talking about nothing.

I have to say, in an age of corporate bullshit and doublespeak, I find the honesty of this very refreshing.

They’ll never torture you with the Comfy Chair

'The War Between the Land and the Sea' (2025) BBC1

The President of the United States just called for my arrest and execution. In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage:

15 million Americans are going to lose their health care.

Tolkien fought in the Battle of the Somme. He saw the horrors of war, and the moments of bravery and fear within it up close. And after all that. ALL that. He wrote Lord of the Rings. He declared true bravery and masculinity to be love, friendship and humbleness. Musk is everything he hated.

He attacked everything in life with a mixture of extraordinary genius and naive incompetence and it was often difficult to tell which was which.
