This is desperate housewife post now, sorry, but do you know what's a pain in the hole? Hoovering small mats/rugs/bathmats in the house. The fuck is up with that? They just get sucked up! You can't hoover them at all, you've to stand on one edge and reef the hoover over the other side. Loada shite.

Maybe Arnotts shouldn't employee security guards to beat shoplifters to death? Totally lowers the tone of the area tbh.

Maybe people shouldn't be able to collect social welfare at the GPO, Arnotts lobbies. The company behind the Henry Street department store raised the idea with the man in charge of the regeneration of the city centre, returns show.

Regeneration shouldn’t mean hiding poor people.

I am wary of most male comedians, particularly if they're lefty, as they usually end up letting the mask slip and showing their misogyny; it is ENTIRELY normal and manly to go to counselling or therapy and Arnotts can get in the fucking BIN. There now, my opinion on the issues of the day! #speirgorm

Tons of support for the strikers in Dublin City centre today. A very hopeful atmosphere and a lot of solidarity to be seen.

As a member of the public, I support striking workers today. Public sector workers are woefully undervalued, and I thought we learned that lesson during the COVID lockdowns, but apparently we need a reminder. I want workers to be paid fairly for the valuable services they provide. Yup the unions!

Massive pickets at Tallaght Hospital and South Dublin County Council this morning. The support from the public is overwhelming. If the government thinks it can divide private and public sector workers, they should think again. A win for public sector workers is a win for all. #JoinAUnion

"We can't just throw public money at nurses and teachers willy nilly," The Minister for Public Expenditure has said in a statement. "They're not data centres, race tracks, angry people with tractors, Mark Zuckerberg, the NFL..."

Margaret Skinnider, revolutionary woman, committed trade unionist, President of the INTO in 1956. Said that the first thing any women should do, on getting a job, is join a union - she joined the INTO the day she got her teaching post. She’d be on the picket line today. #uptheworkers

Lots of beeps and waves and cheers of support from the public this morning on the picket line outside my husband's school in Kildare. Great to see! (Also though, Minister Chambers, public sector workers are also the public who pay taxes, kthankxbye) #UpTheWorkers #Strike #speirgorm

The Tesco delivery man said 'Have a good day' as he was leaving. I tried to say 'you have a good day too' and 'thank you' at the same time and ended up saying 'good you good!' brightly and loudly as he was walking down the drive. Good you good. GOOD YOU GOOD! So anyway, good you good to you all.

Sent my kid to the shop for loo roll. I wrote the brand and then (4) so he'd know to get a four-pack. He came home with four packs of nine rolls each. They won't go to waste in this IBD household but am set for a while! (Tbf, I could have been clearer) #parenting #speirgorm

you know when the idea for a tweet comes to you nine years too late? like my brain, unbidden, just produced the thought “an indecisive Irish judge called Ruth B’fhéidir Ginsberg”. or maybe I did tweet it at the time. nothing matters anyway.

You know when you come across fitness influencers/trainers on your FYP and they start laying out bags of crisps and choc and cakes and saying 'You'd have to eat ALL this to gain 1lb of fat' like it's an unfathomable amount of goodies and you think ... baby girl, that's just a Tuesday? Just me?!

You probably already know this - I'm usually 3 - 5 business years behind everyone else - but if you take a beta blocker like Bisop, you shouldn't take it with orange juice in the morning, affects the absorption. Wait two hours to have the OJ. There you go now! #speirgorm

Thought I was great having clothes on the line by about 9.15am. Forecast says grand sunny day, 5 per cent chance of rain around 2pm. Yeah, started lashing rain around 10am, I'm soaked, the clothes are still soaked. THANKS MET EIREANN! #speirgorm

How desperate are the DUP to try - 28 years later - to refight a battle that even they should have consigned to history? Drumcree was one of those awful times that it is extremely triggering for all of us to have to revisit. It can benefit no one, least of all unionism, to do that.

This is why it's not 'just football.' 'Politics has no place in sport' is a really convenient line if you're actively engaging in genocide and would rather the world didn't discuss it. Israel are well aware of the power of sportswashing. They're usually just too shit to take advantage of it.

And I have no doubt that whatever happens it will be reported that locals should have risen above it and swallowed their pride once again to keep the peace, not that orange supremacists shouldn't have forced their gloating on a community that didn't want it imposed on them

Have been cutting the players some slack cos they don't run the FAI, they're not in Government, but this changes things. Whoever this absolute cunt was needs a good kick up the hole. #StopTheGame

Also reported by @gcooney93.bsky.social in the Irish Times tonight that following the team meeting and vote, some players “turned on Bazunu, one of whom is understood to have abused him to his face”

I'm actually really annoyed now. God we're so complicit, as a country. Our Government is so weak on Palestine, still haven't passed the Occupied Territories Bill, still haven't officially expelled the ambassador, now we're still engaging with them internationally in sport. No. It's not right.
