Brian Schmetzer up after the game. Schmetzer told a story of an ECS drummer who gives him his drum sticks after games, but Schmetzer didn’t take them after the RSL loss. He made sure to take them tonight, and will hold onto them to keep the magic going.

Dear @mayor.seattle.gov, Please use whatever tools you have available to you to get cars out of the core of our city. Cars ruin cities, and their use in the downtown area is not inevitable. I never need to see a car in Pioneer Square, Occidental, or Pike Place ever again.

The countdown is on for a traffic-free Oxford Street. Monday 26 October marks a new chapter for the nation’s high street as it becomes pedestrianised.

I get the desire for a club-owned, soccer specific stadium. But for me personally, unless there were massive improvements to public transit between Seattle and Renton, this would mean giving up season tickets. Plus having to endure the inevitable nonstop "Renton Sounders" jokes

The Sounders held their Annual Business Meeting on Saturday. The biggest topic of discussion was around the possibility of moving to Renton. We discussed it all here: www.sounderatheart.com/2026/09/key-...

With the Strait of Hormuz closed, Iraq has resorted to moving its oil across the desert to Syria in hundreds of tanker trucks, in true Mad Max style. From there, it will be shipped to worldwide markets.

The worst part of this whole "6 years left on lumen contract / Renton is the current best move" posturing is that, if they don't move to Longacres the damage to the supporter base will be done, the loyalty and trust lost and the Sounders will need to try to rebuild with all that from scratch.

I truly cannot believe that after this summer, with Seattle putting on a show in the world cup and packing the streets with their passion for soccer, that they want to move to a 25k seat SSS in Renton. Insane.

A move to Renton would require a huge recasting of the Sounders matchday fan base. The urban stadium is a huge part of the appeal. The convergence of mass transit is the appeal. The myriad bar and restaurant options is the appeal. The post match nightlife is the appeal. Renton ain’t it.

If the Sounders would lose you in a move to Renton, let them know at customerservice@soundersfc.com.

Some people collect shoes or video games, I collect book holds. And I have to move them around when one library's holds gets full. I love @libbyapp.com 😍🥰📚📚

9/ That cafe meeting, Kao asserted, was just one episode in a sprawling pay-to-play operation in Congress. He and his close associates donated nearly $900K to dozens of politicians, allowing Navatek to establish operations in half a dozen states with $40M+ a year in government funds.

lol my flight got diverted because of a medical emergency and they landed us in reykjavik in the middle of the night and deplaned us and sent us through passport control and then the crew vanished and then british airways sent us links to book an overnight hotel room but for a hotel at heathrow

I just finished Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke! I didn't mean to pick it up while mid-read of two other books, I just wanted to see the first sentence... but it grabbed hold and now it's over. What's a book that hooked you on the first page?

Joey Scoops! This is great news. I also hope it means the Leagues Cup exists solely as a warm weather tournament in Mexico/southern US markets over the course of a few weeks in late January/early February. Would make sense for both leagues.

I don’t have an MBA, but a crowded market is probably good for the local businesses who call Pike Place home. The only thing missing from the street is more public seating.
