Hi, I'm Ben ✌🏻 🚲 I cycle by default. 🎡 I play the cello. ✝️ I'm a Christian. ❀️ I live with Ellie and two mini-mes. πŸŽ₯ I run a video production B Corp, producing video content that's good for people, good for platforms and good for the planet:

vimeo.comStudio 91 Manifesto (Showreel 2023)Video has the power to change the world, for better or for worse. It can tear down, or it can build up. It can speak truth to power, or it can spread fake news.…

This is like being the education correspondent and not knowing what phonics are. It's one of these things we take for granted... πŸ™ƒ

What amazes me about this clip is just how vapid his hatred is. People doing something fun that he doesn't like or understand who briefly get in his way....makes him admit homicidal desires. As I rider it's hard to square that so many people feel this kind of hostility over such trivial shit.

Full update from our team. We STILL do not have admin access to the account.

Ezra Levin βŒπŸ‘‘@ezralevin.bsky.social

Update: without explanation, and after being suspended for more than an hour during peak mobilization time, Zuckerberg's Instagram restored the No Kings account but we still lack admin access. More to come. Rest assured we will not stop organizing against this regime and its collaborators.

Maybe just putting in a regular tap would have saved state-owned South Western Railway from having to sponsor the water dispenser in its own station. Just a thought.

And the train station charging for tap water is how I know I'm fully home

Active travel fans will enjoy the 'driving responsibly during a car chase' sequence in the new Shaun the Sheep film.

Ran my first sub-20 5k this morning, after lots of hard work and a couple of failed attempts. Apologies to anyone who has to talk to me for the next month, because I'm not going to shut up about it.

My new update to this rule is using @pangram.com to confirm whether the text is AI-generated... It's usually obvious, but it's always good to check they're not just a really bad copywriter with really good spelling.

My very boring 2026 resolution is to report all cold marketing emails as spam if they don't have an unsubscribe link. None of this "just shoot me a reply if you want me to stop emailing you" nonsense. Life is too short.

Interesting stuff. So there *are* different levels of urgency but they all look and sound the same to the user. The only one that's different is level 1 because opting out is not possible. Quite horrifying to think about when that might be called for.

There are a few wikipedia pages, with the EU one actually referring to a standard and describing a hierarchy of alert levels etc. It refers to an ETSI (?) standard that also covers the UK. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EU-Alert

This is truly sickening.

πŸ’₯ IRAN: War Crimes: A Sky News investigation into the Israeli/US double-tap strike on a Minab girls' school found that the Pentagon had satellite imagery of the site since 1987 and could still see children's shadows in the courtyard moments before the strike

Always nice to see the classic World Cup copywriting clichΓ©s come back around. "Show X the red card" "Kick Y into touch" "Give Z a hydration break"

It's been a joy to work with Tameside Council to document this brilliant school street scheme in Mossley. The important messages for these projects are always the ones shared by the children we speak to. Great to see the cross-party political support for these schemes, too!

It's why they're likely quietly supportive of the under 16 ban. It's the least disruptive option to their existing business. It doesn't require addressing the algorithmic feeds/amplification/rage baiting that differentiates modern social media (2026 Facebook/Twitter vs 2006 Facebook/MySpace etc).

The solution to this was kind of staring me in the face...why am I still bothering to use Google Search if it's no longer a good product? Giving @ecosiasearch.bsky.social a go. So far I've been able to get a definition for a word without tearing my hair out, so that's promising.

Ben Horrigan@ben.s91.media

The other day I was trying to get Google to define a word, which is something I've used Google for for about 20 years. Instead I got an AI summary that didn't include a definition. I asked the AI how to get a definition like before, and it gave me a "solution" that didn't work. #enshittification

It's so good!!! It seems that nobody I know is watching it, and I don't get why. It's easily up there with the best British sketch shows, even though most of them are only 6x30 mins per series...

Greg Jenner (Historian)@gregjenner.bsky.social

SNL UK was good yet again β€” the Louis Theroux sketch worked great, and the Mr Blobby horror movie is a fun idea

It's so devastating that years from now, schoolkids will learn about the climate crisis and how Donald freaking Trump saved us all from it.

Justin Mikulka@justinmikulka.bsky.social

Electric heavy trucks get the Trump Bump! "The jump in diesel prices triggered by the Iran war is expected to accelerate electrification of China’s heavy truck fleet this year, analysts and automakers say, and speed a decline in fuel demand in the β€Œworld's largest oil importer."

Actual madness right here. Hopefully this is stating the obvious here, but Reform are pretty much the worst people you can imagine giving power to.

Sunder Katwala (sundersays)@sundersays.bsky.social

Reform Home Affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf advocates a future government would make decisions on locations of detention centres solely/primarily on political grounds.

Best shows on TV for decentring cars? I'll start - the new Balamory does a great job of showing that you don't need cars to get around. Instead, the characters walk, wheel or (in Ava Potts and PC Plum's case) use their fabulous bikes.

They've chosen to feature active travel very prominently in the titles. I'm definitely overthinking this but does the presence of a scooter imply an island-wide micromobility hire scheme?

It's interesting to compare the reboot with the original. Edie McCredie's minibus was a central part of the show, but now it seems she's swapped it for a boat.

I think it's really underappreciated that a large chunk of people across the world are everyday being served images of the world's worst atrocities, essentially live as they happen, in ways previously only experienced by people on the frontline, who have historically had years of trauma as a result.
