Today's UnSpun is a global election special. From 90+ prior episodes, I extracted a small, easy-to-understand series of steps to sort the wheat from the chaff in your own newsfeed and how to talk to others about theirs. bit.ly/UnSpunPod

No one is safe from these #ICE thugs. It doesn't matter if you're a legal resident like Mohammad Nazeer Paktiawal or a US citizen. So speak out now while there's still time. Go to or start your own protest Call Congress:202-224-3121 & most importantly, volunteer for candidates at mobilize.us.

They literally cannot wait to start arresting everyone who is against them. They are living for the day when they can get revenge on the people who shout at them and film them. If you don't think they will ever knock on YOUR door, you are deluding yourself.

Dolly could have been a billionaire; she chose to use her money to help. She was a genuinely good person

Winston Smith@winstonsmith2025.bsky.social

It’s amazing how great everyone is saying Dolly was. How she touched so many lives and did so much for so many people. All she did, simply was just be a decent human being. She wanted no praise or recognition for it. Sadly, her passing shows that being a decent human being is obviously rare.

Good thread with interesting comments

One of the smartest ideas I've seen in the last few years is instead of trying to find "the Joe Rogan of the left," buy up the news sites of defunct papers and put some money into providing local news coverage in rural areas.

Republicans have set the precedent. We will investigate members of the Trump family who may have been involved in grift. From overseas real estate deals, Pentagon contracts, Middle East investments, and crypto schemes: We'll investigate shady businesses & hold them accountable.

Excellent and empoweringe educacioun will nevir be "efficient" yn the waye that a businesse doth stryve to be "efficient." It ys the heighte of knavery to use one standarde to measure all human endeavours. Businesses are ther to make profits. Educacioun ys ther to make the future. Dream bettir.

Fantastic writeup of an incredibly complex problem with the interdependence of the entire food system and how the people it screws hardest are the people who care most

Ok. As promised, a thread about supply chain food safety vulnerabilities in the food industry. Buckle up. It's a long one.

Clarence Thomas read the same piece of 1866 history one way when it helped kill affirmative action, and the opposite way when it helped block birthright citizenship. Originalism my ass. I wrote a satire about Brad, his clerk who quits over it because he can't take the cognitive dissonance.

About time for some consequences!

What do you call a film where thirteen of the actors who have played Doctor Who are doing a heist, and are being led by either of the Fourth or Sixth Doctors' actors? Baker's Dozen.

The repetition of ‘here’, and even the missing word in the title, in Collette Bryce's poem speaks of absence. The enjambment & line endings fill the poem with thoughtful hesitation. I love the unusual similes too – ‘like discs in a jukebox’ #poetry #poemoftheday #NationalLonelinessWeek

Police Murdering a baby over a possible theft . This is all by design. Look " We the People " aren't making it and that is all on our government and policies not your neighbor. America has chosen to spend money on war and then rebuilding what we bombed. Then we spend money on policing ( cont.)

The cops shot and killed a 1 year old over a package of diapers. Now they tear-gas the people protesting the murdering cops.
