Hey #ElixirLang & #Ruby fam, I got laid off this last Friday and am looking for the next adventure! If anyone has any opportunities, feel free to reach out!

Starting a new site with all the Phoenix configuration in place to serve multiple domains in the same app is now done with a single command. Plus some other new features in this release and bug fixes. πŸŽ‰

The biggest release so far, Beacon v0.4 adds some of the most requested features from our community to help create new sites, deploy multiple sites, and several other conveniences: πŸ“ loom.ly/BjEobYo #MyElixirStatus

Wow @fly.io just can’t win. Honestly going to have to stop recommending them with all these outages and issues. Anyone have any good alternatives?

Severance is some of the best TV I think I’ve ever seen. The last time I remember being this intrigued by a show was Lost.

Woo! First PR accepted/merged into Phoenix LiveView! github.com/phoenixframe... Just a documentation change but a fun process understanding the thinking behind maintaining such an amazing core part of the #ElixirLang ecosystem.

I am both immensely proud and deeply ashamed of this #ElixirLang Phoenix LiveView hackery I built to do dynamic functional component calls.

For those of you moving over from Hyper.js to Ghostty, here is the configuration for my best attempt at replicating the style on macOS 1/🧡

Padding and Title Bar: window-padding-x = 10 window-padding-y = 10 macos-titlebar-style = tabs 5/🧡

The remainder of the config is preferential (e.g. I'm a fan of FiraCode) window-title-font-family = "Fira Code Retina" font-family = "Fira Code Retina" font-family-bold = "Fira Code Bold" font-size = 16 At least it gives nice ligatures when writing #ElixirLang 6/🧡

Yoooo #elixirLang folks, if @davelucia.com (no davydog, wtf) and I had a holiday live stream monday, would y'all come and bullshit for a bit? If so what TZ are you in? Show me how bsky scales vs the elixirlang community, retwoot this shit.

This thread is a gold mine. It also sums up the #ElixirLang ecosystem up until this point IMO. Lots of knowledge silos and fragmented solutions. Which makes it that much more exciting to see all of the sharing here on Bluesky. It makes a community greater than the sum of its parts.

I love @fly.io and want them to succeed, but their continued unreliability forces me to consider alternative hosting solutions. I’m looking into Kamal and Digital Ocean. Any other recommendations?

Can I avoid getting labeled a β€œcrypto-bro” if I say that I’m just interested in the tech side of it? Or is that what they all say? πŸ˜”

On a related note. πŸ€“ I got server-side certificate verification working for an EVM compatible chain talking to an #ElixirLang backend. Used some #Erlang :binary slicing and dicing which was super fun. Now I can mathematically prove that a user is who they are claiming to be with just a signature!

πŸ“£ Big and quite emotional news today - I'm retiring from the Hanami, dry-rb and rom-rb core teams. It's been a life-changing journey for me, thank you ❀️ You can read a longer announcement on my blog πŸ‘‡πŸ»

If you want to understand why healthcare pricing is horrific, the first thing to know is that our system puts 100% of the credit risk for deductibles, copays and co-insurance on hospitals and doctors. That's insane. We have turned them into Sub Prime Lenders 🧡

This blows up the myth that VCs know wtf they're doing by forcing growth into early stage companies. Throwing large teams at problems needs to stop & there's only one stack that has objective data showing it's as or more productive w/ smaller teams than JS/Python/Ruby stacks: @elixir-lang.org

While discussing his work on integrating vulnerability databases into hex.pm, @maennchen.dev showed me some interesting stats about hex packages. Of the top 10 packages by version count, #1, #2, and #7 are mine, with a total of 1286 versions published. Thats almost as much as the other 7 combined πŸ˜‚
