When Donald Trump launched his campaign, he was caught hiring paid actors to pad the audience. (I also happened to be the one that busted him doing so). www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/politic...
I remember when the crypto bros nearly bought a late primary to get Harris off the ballot. Sometimes you don't want to flush the game.
i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

Something else I want to mention here: The two MH-60R on this ship have scheduled inspections which require shore basing to complete. The det and squadron are probably burning through message traffic managing all of the one-time exceptions to various requirements.
Not the kind of record you really want to set.

The Hard Hat Riot is the single most important and consequential independently organized labor action in post-Gilded Age American history but the entire left-of-center has deliberately chosen to completely forget it because of how utterly embarrassing it is to us

Brazil's election was critical not just for democracy but for the Amazon rainforest, which Lula swore to protect and the Bolsonaros swore to exploit: their "perverse project" of destruction. So many parallels to Trump in the US, bulldozing our national parks. This election mattered in so many ways.

My formerly Republican, now independent brother, who votes Republican for Congress and Libertarian for President, once described the GOP as a three-legged stool that had lost two of its legs. I told him the Democrats are a millipede, and he had the horror of being a Democrat in his eyes right then.

So let it be posted. So let it be done. 8:00 pm at Beermongers, election night, 03 November 2026. 2415 SE 11th Ave. (Edge of Ladd's Addition), Portland, Oregon. Bluesky meetup. Including but not limited to fans of @normal-men.bsky.social here in the Rose City. Hoping @golikehellmachine.com shows!
This thread is my absolute favorite response to this prompt:
Smartphone cameras mean people can't call Black folk liars when we describe how much racism we receive. The cost of solar panels dropped so much that it's obvious that the US government *chooses* to stay on coal and gas, not that it *can't* get off of coal and gas. China planted 66 billion trees.

California used to have competitive elections. In 1994, Republican Governor Pete Wilson championed Prop 187, which among other things, attempted to bar children of undocumented migrants from attending public school. Latino voter registration surged in response, and the state become uncompetitive.
Two initial takeaways from updated TargetEarly early vote data: - Overall vote is now running meaningful ahead of 2022 - Young people, Blacks, and Hispanics are turning out in much larger numbers than at this point in 2022 Dems may be getting the turnout and electorate we wanted this year.....

New: Couple of guys from Kentucky just put out a new way to track money in politics. Been playing around with it—very impressed.
There's a line from the pro-slavery Southern Baptist Convention through anti-integration, anti-abortion terrorism, Dominionism, Prosperity Gospel, Trumpism and anti-empathy, and it repudiates the Gospel the whole way. Worshipping the Antichrist would be plainer than whatever idolatry they got going.
If they believe that empathy is dangerous and will take them farther from God, I don't know what they are worshipping but they are definitely not worshipping the God of Christ.
