I often have to grapple with the idea that I'm pushing 40 & critiquing kid's cartoons. Most people say "Kids are smart, they can handle complexity", which is true! But I also see people use that phrase as a free pass to say "I want this to be made for me specifically" Demographic still matters!

the Eric Bauza news has actually hit me like a train. I can't really believe it. I met the guy and he was the kindest person. He loved Scarborough and the Toronto animation community and always showed up.

The news about Erica Bauza is shocking and devastating. He was an artists' artist who truly cared about his craft and his peers. This is a tremendous loss to all those two whom he brought joy. My heart goes out to his family!

When I first moved to LA on 2010 me and Bauza were a layout artist/animator team on the first show that I moved down to the states to work on. Within a month he had just landed enough VA work at Nickelodeon that he could leave the art side of production and pursue voice acting full time

The man was an honest-to-god genius, a true vocal chameleon, an incredible talent, should have had decades ahead of him. An incredible tragedy.

I will never forget the ferocity of him shouting "Release Coyote Vs Acme" during an award acceptance. That shit powerful. He was only 11 years older than me too.

Goddammit. He was way too young… rest in peace to a Canadian legend.
