cooking up something new, something fun
hello blue sky folks 👋🏽
this is Craig at Superbrothers, since 2003 I've been a visual designer, creative director, producer & writer, mostly on DIY videogames
I created Sword & Sworcery EP (2011) and JETT (2021/2023)
I'm from BC, lived a decade in Toronto, then over a decade in the woods of Quebec
making games so you can hopefully afford to make more games is literally a different industry from grinding up people so number goes up and it is harmful to pretend otherwise regardless of whether or not we share a platform or a binary format
just watched matt johnson’s blackberry film w my 82 year old pops, it was a big hit
followed that up with the first 15 of nirvanna etc the movie
god bless matt n jay
if you ever happen to see someone post a joke you don't understand or discuss a subject you aren't familiar with, you are well within your right to complain, and perhaps even scold them if necessary. you are their customer and you have rights
Since it apparently needs to be explained again honey dears: this is all just a DISTRACTION! It is a play of MERE APPEARANCES over ESSENTIAL FORMS! We are SUPPOSED to be spending our NIGHTMARISH LIVES contemplating GNOSIS!
not a surprise, the house of saud never struck me as progressive rpg people, and it has been a floppy decade for them, but wow
biiiiig RIP bioware 🍁
400 people 😑
sorry but the replies here are whack. co-dev is good and healthy for the industry. co-dev means that when you finish your project, instead of laying off the surge of people you hired to finish the game, they go work on a different game with a different core team and different publisher.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer was made by a core team of 75 people. "What we wanted to do was keep that core small, smaller than perhaps you might have done in the past, and scale capacity and capability with what we call distributed development." https://bit.ly/4hT02qg
oddly, despite the end times news, local life has been quite nice of late
kids/fam/house all great, fun things happening at work of late, recent Big Walk times were great
also, weirdly, an Amazon glitch seems to have netted me a free Switch 2 🤷
the NYT hard fork show folks are now up and running under the name machine gods, for the latest from the tech doom frontier

the singularity + the advent of russian jet drones with chinese turbojets + us/musk dark alliance with russia against ukraine/europe + the mother of all el ninos + midterm/ice malarkey
= what a time
no better feeling than finding an old shopping list in a coat you haven't worn since last winter, so you can see the stupid shit you were buying back then
ended up on a bit of a 90s tim burton kick this spooky season
showed the kids (12, 9) scissorhands and batman, a great vintage, a lot to appreciate in these
check this out: action game protagonists, they walk like THIS - doot doot doot doot doot
but, point and click adventure protagonists, they walk like THIS
newbie Big Walk starting 830pm tonight
if an acquaintance of mine sees this and wants to dip in tonight and get started, just lmk, don’t be shy, could be the last such departure
losing my mind watching sarah polley’s take this waltz
love polley, and it’s well made, good folks, good music, nice toronto flavor, love the louisbourg, tho… it’s pretty floppy
and like…
the beaches are on the other side of town from little portugal… wtf is this??
big toronto-core misrepresent
austrian policeman: did you get a look at the people who killed your baby, mrs. hitler?
mrs. hitler: yes they were all wearing silver time travel suits and saying something about updog
austrian policeman: what's updog
mrs. hitler (to camera):
