new idea "one email a day" you should only be able to send or read one email a day

People who spiral out overusing LLM chatbots are really just experiencing the kind of brain-damaging stream of unconditional validation that’s always been the norm for the hyper-wealthy, which explains a lot.

Worse than Twitter, private discussions (text, email, whatever) among like-minded wealthy lunatics who are all surrounded by yes-men who talk like ChatGPT in maximum ass-kissing mode.

This tweet is highly defamatory and Martina Navratilova should be fired from BBC Sport for it. It demonstrates an horrendous level of hatred for a trans woman (who was cleared of all wrongdoing in a recent tribunal) because she is a trans woman.

This always happens and then Trump tweets something like “The Prime Minister of Persia (GREAT rugs) came to me in a dream and he’s close to making a deal” just before the opening bell. And he somehow gets the geniuses on Wall Street to pretend like everything is normal for another day.

There must be trials. Not as an emotive aspiration, rhetorical meme, or empty threat. A concrete plan. A dedicated special court for it. Structural legislation and prosecutors and funding and all the rest of it. Everything necessary for it can be done constitutionally. All it takes is the will.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

"rich dipshit owner doesn't understand the industry he's bought into and clumsily destroys what made it good" feels less like a narrative unique to the washington post and more like the music that's been playing in the background of all our lives for at least 40 years

Naah, I want them on trial.

Chuck Schumer@schumer.senate.gov

Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE: End the roving patrols and racial profiling. Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police. Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

approaching the problem of "roving death squads" from an incrementalist point of view is just a slow form of suicide

Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social

SCHUMER says Democrats are “united” behind three DHS reforms 1/ End roving patrols; tighten the rules on warrants and require ICE to coordinate with local authorities. 2/ Enforce accountability; a uniform code of conduct. 3/ Require masks off, body cameras on, agents carry ID.

One thing I see liberal outlets giving ground on that I feel the need to correct: it’s impossible to “dox” a paid public official By simply reporting their name, institutional role, and political affiliations

There are people trying to stop others from using whistles, and next they'll say it's ableism. As your disability advocate friend, I will be the first with serious sensory sensitivity to say that I would rather be in pain than someone get abducted, or shot. Block/mute this argument, it's an op.

By who? Who shot the person dead? You saw the video. We all know a federal agent shot a man dead who was prone on the ground. Also, it's not "according to officials." It's according to verified video seen with your eyes. Not saying what anyone can obviously see with their eyes is a form of lying.

What I can say from living through and studying the last quarter century of revolutions is that are two ways basically guaranteed ways to start an uprising: raise the price of food 500% or kill people in the street one at a time over and over and over again. Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

The Mexican police will kidnap a bus full of activists, torture them to death, and then burn the bodies and they still fucking riot get the fuck over yourselves we all did the this yall are saying is impossible 5 years ago. Either we fucking act or they kill more Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

there is no constituency that needs you to fall all over yourself to call Maduro illegitimate before you dare criticize Trump. Voters have been down this road before. No one thought Saddam Hussein was a nice guy. Criticism of Maduro at this stage correctly reads as a defense of Trump to most people.

Just an absolutely pathetic response from absolutely pathetic people. I was not a fan of Pelosi but even she would be better than the current crew.

cannot emphasize this enough: we need to push the mainstream political discourse towards mass prosecution and execution of ice agents it doesn't really matter if they actually get killed by the state, but we need to build towards a society that widely agrees they *should* have been, morally
