cool option for at-home flu vaccination!
I ordered FluMist for at-home administration last week. A first! So far I can report that my family of 5 paid $17, medical review and approval was same day, and the shipment should take 10-14 days to arrive (longer than I would have guessed).

I will simply say I am seeing exactly this situation play out right now in a different field. Work that would have taken about 3 weeks start to finish via traditional methods is now into week 6 and still in what amounts to first draft territory
Harvard just dropped a study AI productivity in software engineering and it found the average increase in productivity from using Claude code is.....zero and for exactly the reasons you'd think fion.ac/jellyfish.pdf

Exactly. I am tired of seeing the “I always knew”/“their work was actually bad” takes whenever allegations emerge. Sometimes—often, actually!—bad people find their way into good spaces and make good things. And you’re not better than the folks who were taken advantage of for “always knowing”

You should just be able to find your little niche in the world & stay there comfortably if it’s what makes you happy. That’s literally all being human is about. Just hanging out and doing something helpful. We made up all this other shit and it’s making everyone miserable, bc there’s no finish line.

7/ All that said, the flu is already starting to pick up unusually early this year, especially in the West. So I wouldn’t wait until October to think about it. If you haven’t gotten your flu vaccine yet, now is a good time to schedule it for maximum protection.

(Again, this directly refutes an increasingly popular policy frame that says primary prevention of spillover through nature-based solutions is a more equity-oriented solution than investment in healthcare or action on political determinants of inequity such as vaccine nationalism. It's just not.)

1: For every hour you travel from the nearest clinic, the odds of detecting an outbreak decreases by about 1/3. 👉 For policymakers: the best thing we can do to catch and intercept spillovers before they become epidemics is build rural clinics and pay for diagnostic machines and supplies.
