My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today.
Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.
No surprise after Sup Court decision re Chicago but particularly encouraging that court ruled there was no rebellion or danger of rebellion —ie made decision itself rather than deferring to Trump

"No ma'am."
Two words. That's how McCain handled bigotry from his own base.
Compare that to the personal insults the GOP is running on for this midterm. He debated Obama on fundamental issues. They can't do that anymore, so they go low.
El-Sayed: This is like the 3rd campaign stop where Donald Trump can't help but mention somebody's ass. When I get to DC, I'm just gonna make sure that I never let him see mine…
Muslims didn’t storm the Capitol on January 6, try to steal an election, or overthrow our government.
White Christian nationalists, racist militia groups, and rabid Trump supporters did.
We need to stop pretending the biggest terrorist threat to this country is coming from somewhere else.
A man turned his window into a special place after he began receiving daily visits from a great kiskadee, which soon started bringing its friends to enjoy it together.

Anthony Davis on why some Trump supporters refuse to abandon him, even as his approval rating falls to record lows.
“Admitting that a long-held political stance was mistaken requires accepting that years of defense, personal friction, and social conflict were based on a flawed premise.”
BRENNAN: The DOJ lawsuit demands the Alaska result not be certified if voters are confused. The confusion is defined as Sen. Sullivan not winning.
BLANCHE: That's not what it says
BRENNAN: I'm quoting from it. You are telling them not to certify it. What right does the federal govt have?
Scoop: White House lawyers are weighing preemptive mass pardons for junior staff, sources says
Under discussion: Pardoning everyone involved in deportation, war, or trade policy

He’ll lie. And then he’ll lie again. And then he’ll lie some more. And then he’ll keep right on lying. I think what Polymarket needs to institute for every one of Trump’s rallies is an over/under on how many lies he’ll tell.
This supercut is likely to make Trump VERY upset. The difference between Trump and Obama is on full display, and the contrast is absolutely devastating. Watch until the end...
Drone footage shows thousands of Israeli’s gathered in Tel Aviv for an antigovernment protest, three days before a general election widely viewed as a referendum on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Protesters demanded an independent commission of inquiry into the October 7 failures.
There it is. Elon Musk admits it.
“That loophole was closed last week.”
In a deranged post on X, Musk openly acknowledges that SpaceX recently restricted Ukraine’s ability to use Starlink.
🔥 OBAMA: “Trump should be on HGTV. He's got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory…. He’s clearly not focused on lowering prices for you.”
🔥 OBAMA: “The thing is, Iran didn’t have nuclear weapons — because I put a deal in place he pulled out of… and the war he started is why the price of everything is UP… how much time do you think Hegseth spends looking at himself in the mirror? These are not serious people.”
🚨BREAKING: On behalf of Mary Peltola's campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Elias Law Group has filed to fight DOJ's lawsuit to rig the Alaska Senate election.
We will win this case, Mary will win this election, she will be certified and seated.
I remember when media did a whole bunch of stories about Joe Biden’s shoes to emphasize that he was old. But Trump can randomly blurt out random noises, fall asleep constantly in meetings, and walk like a drunk failing a sobriety test, and we get almost nothing.
George Clooney fired back at Trump for calling him a “Hollywood elite”:
“I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance, shoes, and worked night shifts. I went eight years without health insurance.
