If you have an iPhone w/ the current OS, go into Settings, scroll to the bottom to click on Apps, scroll down to M & go into the Messages app, and flick this switch “screen unknown senders”. This dumps 99% political text messages into a folder you can separately check.

This should violate the Purcell Principle, which says you can’t change the voting rules last minute. But, the Purcell Principle really should be called the Purcell Prank, because it is a joke played on the American people. The prank actually only protects Republicans and hurts Democrats.

the right doesn't reject empathy entirely, they selectively deploy it. when a white person is murdered by an immigrant, for example, they will call upon your empathy. but empathy directed at their enemies is cast aside as toxic.

Matt Gabriele@profgabriele.com

are those separate things though? that rejection of empathy/ embrace of cruelty is part of their intellectual worldview. goes along with the "how dare my kids reject me" thing because it's about domination.

Not surprising but there you go: The funders who were offering MI college Republicans $200 to heckle El-Sayed are tied to Christian Nationalist Tommy. If he was many to inspire other to follow his lead, it did not go well. Gonna need to offer more than $200.

Huge follow-up reporting to my scoop: The Guardian confirmed America Next—the conservative nonprofit founded by Bobby Jindal that was offering students $ to disrupt El-Sayed events—paid a firm registered to Tommy Teepell’s dad Timmy $250k for “canvassing and influencer marketing” against El-Sayed.

Shooting at a car to stop a shoplifter is not justified. Even if no one was harmed, let alone shooting to death a 1 year-old baby.

JUST IN: The police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley as he sat in his mother’s lap in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia, Miss., in June “was justified,” Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s office said on Monday. Her office will not charge the white officer who shot the child.

Please check this out. I’ll just say this: one of the dumbest insurance co. tricks when you file a personal injury lawsuit is to confuse one Latino, who filed a Worker’s Comp. claim with the Latino making the personal injury claim, because they both have the same first & last name.

lol are you fucking kidding me? I know hardcore MAGA partisans, I watched the World Cup final with several. They said, “of course he should be making money!” No one believes this shit.

Congratulations to the DNC, for finally inspiring me to find out a way to filter all text messages from numbers I don’t know. I was the happy recipient of 41 text messages asking me for money. Now I won’t be seeing any of your fucking messages asking me for money.

It was meant to be a dramatic confrontation, a public accusation of perjury against Jack Smith, the special counsel who investigated Donald J. Trump. Instead, Senator Eric Schmitt’s amateur sleuthing into basketball led him to the wrong game, league and state.

Let’s be honest, a lot of schools are essentially segregated. What this does do is make it easier to underfund black schools.

This is what corruption looks like. A Russian oligarch close to Putin spends hundreds of thousands of dollars bankrolling celebrations for the president’s son. And we’re supposed to believe it was just a generous wedding gift with no strings attached? #StopTrumpCorruption

I think this is fairly obvious, but when someone powerful tries to ban something, they makes it cool and subversive. Of course people are going to want to watch it. “Look what Trump doesn’t want you to see!” Has an irresistible appeal to anyone who doesn’t like Trump.

9/11 represented a chance to heal the psychic wounds and replace the ignominous experience of Vietnam with a "good war" in which we were righteously attacked just like at Pearl Harbor. This time we would do it right and Respect The Troops and win a fight when we were unambigously the good guys.

To give you a sense of proximity: The ash cloud from the attack lingered for days, until rain finally washed it down. The next day, I got off the school bus, and my sneaker left a print in it. I remember thinking "I just stepped in the remains of 3,000 people." And then... had to go to class.

To this day, I have a hard time talking about that experience, because on some level it will always feel like stolen valor. It's taken me until my 40s to finally accept it for what it was: the world upending, and the first time in my life I felt truly, utterly helpless.

For those who are new, Joe DiGenova has spent the last 30 years baselessly accusing Democrats of committing crimes. If he is saying publicly the Trump administration pushed him out because he wouldn’t bring cases because there was no evidence, things are really bad.
