The oligarchs are spending crap tonnes of money trying to influence the election, when that amount could reduce our deficit, and fund Medicare for all! Plus more!!

The magic of Donckers has graced Marquette for over 130 years! Let's ensure small businesses like this one can last another 130 by passing Medicare for All. 🍬🍭🍫

The orange felon is threatening Canada with more tariffs because of wildfire smoke drifting to the US. For context, Canada sent fire crews to the US when Southern California was being ravaged by catastrophic blazes. He’s a piece of shit. Sending love to our Canadian friends. 🇨🇦

In just the last few days, two people were fatally shot by federal immigration agents, and a third person was struck and killed by a truck while fleeing agents.   ICE briefly paused the vehicle stops at the center of the crisis until Trump demanded they resume.

AOC on Susan Collins touting the money she got for body cameras and ICE training in the DHS bill. “Senator Collins wrote the blank check to allow these officers to conduct themselves in the way that they have in Maine in the first place, and she's the one who's poured resources into it.”

Whether they literally kill them in cold blood, or kill them by forcing them into the inhuman conditions of their detention centers...it's all murder. They must be held accountable.

The reason why ICE agents continue to shoot people is because nothing ever happens to them when they do. They essentially have been granted full immunity for whatever they choose to do to people by a lawless regime of thugs.

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.

The autumn of 2023 was far enough from the US 2024 elections to allow the Biden administration to think this clearly. They didn't want to. And they facilitated the destruction of Gaza. No one that served in a policy position in that admin should be ever in a position of power. 4/4

So now millions of football fans around the world view the US as cheaters who used political corruption to influence FIFA and we lose anyway. So much winning. When’s the next war?

chiaragd.bsky.social reposted

The Trump family is getting richer while everyday Americans struggle. We have not seen this kind of blatant corruption in any Administration or any Presidency in the history of our country. Oversight Democrats are investigating.

New York City residents are celebrating the reopening of public pools — including Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who jumped into the water while wearing a suit at an East Harlem pool on Saturday. Outdoor public pools will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day through Sept. 13.

Grimly amusing Dem machines think they deserve some sort of entitlement hierarchy. My entire life, everything has been moving backwards, politically, democratically, bureaucratically, judicially. You are all failures. You are presumptively part of the rot that must be removed down to the root.

A lot of discourse since Tuesday hinges on idea that some politicians are owed a seat, it’s their turn & it’s problematic to not back them. & that’s so odd to me — because not only you have to wait for 88-year olds to deign to retire, but then there’s someone else waiting who’s owed & you can’t run?

Mamdani is doing something Establishment and Corporate Democrats are groomed to never do. He's flexing his power and not apologizing. He is doing it on behalf of a majority that is sick and tired of the status quo. They'll do everything to try and stop him.

This is a fight between the volunteers of the Democratic Party and the consultant/billionaire class of the Democratic Party. That's what it is.

Zohran Mamdani appears to have went 3 for 3 today where his endorsed candidates all won their primary nominations. Here is the harsh truth, more progressive candidates are laser focused on eco-populist message that resonates and motivates people. #DV1 #ProudBlue #Voices4Victory #USDemocracy

I earn my living through tech platforms now, and when I look at the deductions taken by the Very Worst People On Earth from my earnings for doing the square root of fuck all (“platform fee”) compared to what I do (all of it) and realise this money just vanishes, it makes taxes seem rather noble.

I've been covering Trump as a presidential historian for a decade. The presser he just gave was the most incoherent he's ever given. It's clear he knew that if at any point he answered any question—or conceded a single fact—he'd admit that he just surrendered to Iran. My God.

They're going after Newsom's wife for "self-dealing" because she worked with charities that had business before the state. If Dems or the media even entertain the idea that this is a big problem in light of the fact that the Trumps are *stealing the country blind* I am going to lose it.

Elon Musk is the grotesque byproduct of a capitalist order that converts inequality into virtue and exploitation into spectacle. The hyped-news about the world's first trillionaire is in reality about the power of class privilege, and the corrupting forces that give life to gangster capitalism.

Julia Roberts: Renee Nicole Goode is not a symbol. She is an American woman, a queer woman who was doing the very best she could do to be good in an unjust world. And I am honored to celebrate her life and her legacy tonight, because the life she gave is our responsibility to carry.
