There are people, even some trans people, who think that we can give up sports to appease bigots. That if we give up on sports, this all goes away. That is a lie. I have reported on this for years, and EVERY state that passed a sports ban as a moderate compromise has gone on to pass worse.

Deeply important to note that you should fight tooth and nail for the rights of the most vulnerable, never surrender them for the sake of short term victory. The only way we survive, is through community. When a Dem loses votes because they abandon Trans rights, it's not "Purity Politics"

Refusing to vote for a candidate who promises to restrict my health care or strip me of rights and legal recognition isn’t “purity politics” - it’s literally the most basic form of self defense. To fail to recognize that suggests that you simply do not see trans people as worthy of defense.

If my D candidates have explicitly refused to check Trump in meaningful, non-symbolic/performative ways, is it still purity politics? If my D candidates have continued to vote for Trump appointees while my neighbors have been kidnapped, impoverished, and killed, is my lack of vote a mere protest?

The anitdote is similarly obvious: solidarity. Fight together and keep our freedom or fight alone and be enslaved. It's frustrating how many people in power seem to not understand this and say we can just sacrifice part of our coalition in order to save the rest of us. It doesn't work like that!
