There is truly nothing you could do to make fun of the NYT covering the Obama Cheesecake Factory quip instead of Trump being accused of rape. It’s completely beyond parody.

OBAMA INSULTED THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY — a totally fake and made-up story that means nothing — is their closing argument, given blanket coverage in conservative media and polite attention in the mainstream media. Meanwhile, revelation yesterday that the President committed a violent rape is ignored.

"Journalists often use the words 'unsubstantiated' or 'uncorroberated' when referring to the allegations victims have levied against powerful men, like Trump. Instead of saying these women’s accounts are not corroborated, maybe it’s time we say they were not investigated in spite of clear patterns."

Here's the thing: Any legislation that's worth passing will be vetoed by an insanely angry Trump, and you won't have 290 votes to override it You know what you CAN do with just 218 votes? Impeach

I can't really believe it but it seems to be the case that the Times has not covered a credible accusation of rape against the President of the United States, but has two solid stories on Obama's cheesecake factory quip.

"The votes aren't there" is cowardice masked as savviness. There has to be accountability for their crimes. The House has a duty to make the case here and if some GOP senators want to weasel out, make them own that vote. Don't let pundits and "strategists" talk you out of doing your damn job.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

That RFK clip is ghastly, but it's totally consistent with the Islamophobia that has been coming out of this administration, including Trump's rhetoric about Abdul El-Sayed. They are all in on the hatred of Muslims because it's a formula that has worked before.

Also, I'd love to know how two different stories -- each written by three reporters, with no overlap in the authors -- managed to find Jolene Riessen and make her the stand-in for apolitical Iowa farmers.

There are only two explanations for the NYT's habit of presenting GOP operatives and donors as true swing voters: 1. Their reporters and editors are somehow incapable of running a simple Google searches, showing just a staggering level of journalistic incompetence 2. They want to the GOP to win

Seeing how little coverage that house report that added another rape accusation to Trump's tally got today, I looked back on just the front page Benghazi stories (there were many, many more inside over these months).

I blame the legacy media and their two sides to every story reporting. Always remember that @nytimes.com reporter Pam Belluck wrote an article on the "rape doctor" Todd Akins and profiled him, allowing him to explain the science behind his claim about “Rape and the Body’s ‘Natural Defense.”

It’s just so appalling and enraging how casual and commonplace this has become. I’m out of words.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

One thing people are missing from the new Jim Comey charges. They came 2 days after Aakash Singh was promoted to PADAG. Comey has been arguing that Trump keeps hiring people for the primary purpose to prosecute him, and this is consistent with that. emptywheel.net/2026/10/26/t...

I really didn't think we'd ever get dumber content targeting a Democratic elected than the tan suit scandal. And yet here we are!

Then Obama sold out homeowners to banks turning a blind eye to illegal robo-siging and falsification of foreclosure documents papering over gaps in mortgage chains of title. You know - illegal shit that no bank execs went to jail for but reaped billions in profits and personal wealth years later.

Older progressives remember what can happen when a mass movement stands down. The grassroots machine that propelled Obama into office was shut down, and his most ardent supporters were let down. The young'uns won't make that mistake.
